Return pump fit disaster

I have the 3170 gph version of that pump and it’s been great. The parts that come with the pump work well. You take the barbed fitting you want to use to the hardware store and buy the hose to fit it not the other way around. Silicone tubing works great. I’ve used both the hot water trick and the heat gun one and the heat gun works best. Just a few seconds and the tubing is plenty soft to push on a properly sizes barb. The hot water works but will never be as fast as the heat gun. It’s just not as hot without boiling it away.
