My RedSea Reefer XL 425 with failed seams.

The tank shipped yesterday and delivery estimate is 1-3 weeks. I made my cardboard mockup for assembling my rock structure in. That hallway entrance is the reason why I didn't get the 525. I didn't want to impede hallway traffic.

For the aquascape, I want to do the "2 mounds" style. One mound under each light that goes about 1/2 to 2/3 of the way to the top. Does anyone know about how much rock I should order to build that scape?

I have ordered all of the equipment so far except for the ATO and heaters. I have also decided to mount my Radions from a rail hanging from the ceiling. I think it will be a nice look.

Also, with some helpful feedback from these forums, I made this GFCI plugin to run all my equipment from. The reason I use this instead of replacing the outlet inside the wall is so if the GFCI does get tripped, I don't have to try to reach behind the stand to press the reset button. This will be attached inside the cabinet and will be easy to get to.

I got a black one. Should be white. I've got a ticket in with Red Sea so hopefully I'll get the stand soon. Here is the glass.

I have been in touch with Red Sea and they did not send the wrong stand. The box included inside the crate is the interior parts which are always black. Depending on what you order, they add a separate box containing the sides and doors on top of the crate and use a shrink plastic wrap to hold it on. The box of sides and doors must have gotten separated and lost in shipping. They are sending me another one.

Still waiting on 2 sides and 2 doors to ship from Red Sea. Pretty much stuck until I get that package.

I built the cabinet as far as I can go with what I have. The next step is to put on the sides and level it with the tank on it.

Assembled my lid.

Assembled my lights. 2 Radion XR15 on a RMS bar with hanging kit.

Got some rocks that need to be glued up into something interesting.

I came up with this rough shape. I will beautify the seams between rocks once the shape is solid. I made my own "base" rocks by cutting flat spots onto boulders using an angle grinder.

Red Sea sent me the doors and sides.

I am now ready to put the tank on the cabinet and then level it. I'm just waiting for someone to help me lift it.

Everything has been going well with the rest of the setup. My brother came over and helped me lift the tank up and I got it plumbed and filled with tap water for leak testing. No leaks on the first try! My rockwork is almost done and I am going to start making saltwater tomorrow. I might be able to start it cycling by this weekend.

I added a melanarus wrasse today. He went into the sand as soon as he was added and hasn't come out yet. I also got some Orphek reef lenses which work really great.

with / without 15k color filter and polarized lens.
