Rmcrom's Reefer XL 425

A new one spot foxface rabbitfish. His name is Snoopy. Tomini tang started fighting it so I had to put up a mirror. Now they're teaming up to fend off both of their reflections. Fish are not very smart.

I transferred a few corals from my other system. 1 hammer, 1 frogspawn, 1 duncan, 1 micromussa.

My watchman goby died. I'm not sure what happened but I think a clown attacked him.

New pink spotted watchman goby and some new corals from Joe Knows Reefs live sale.

I already had a 15W HOB UV from a previous tank that I converted for inline use. It is only rated for 75 gallons, but I'll see if it does anything in this larger tank before spending $400+ for a 25W. I'm using a Sicce Syncra 1.0 for it and flex plumbing so I can easily add a carbon reactor to it.

Where are you pulling the source water from - the refugium chamber? I assume you're emptying into the skimmer chamber? You may want to look at upgrading to a Sicce SDC 3.0. The electricity savings along will pay for the difference in short order. As long as the flow rate is at or below 233 Gph you'll achieve the required 90,000 µw/cm2 radiation exposure for parasites. Your total system volume is 112 gallons, so it will be a little undersized (but still better than no UV at all). You'll be getting a total turnover of about 2x every hour (I get about 3x with my 57-watt, but this is also running at about 60% of rated capacity - so I can dial it up to 5x if need be).

Yes it picks up from the refugium chamber and empties into the skimmer chamber. I already had this pump laying around, but if the UV is effective I may look at the nicer pump.

I am seeing an improvement in clarity with the undersized UV.

I wanted to open up space in the stand to add dosers and dosing bottles so I moved the ATO. I got an IKEA EKET cabinet and a 6.5 gallon beer fermentation bucket.

Month 4 went well. I got some new corals during the black Friday sales. I also started dosing and am seeing coraline starting to grow on the rocks.

Love this idea as space seems tight by all the plumbing. How exactly does your top off system work? Are you running Tunze? Those seem to be popular.

Yes I am using the Tunze osmolator ATO. I have the controller in the right hand side of the cabinet. There was plenty of tubing and just enough wire to have the controller and pump on opposite sides. The water level sensors are in the return pump section of the sump and the top off water comes in at the filter sock section just so I don't have to do a 180 degree bend on the tube since it comes in from the back of the cabinet.

I made a PAR map. This is 2 XR15 gen 5 on AB+ profile with 60% schedule intensity.

Thats an excellent Idea. I need to do that w my 250. I'm sure they make that in black. What are the measurements on the EKET?

I did another PAR map running AB+ at 100% schedule. Is 30 days too fast to raise PAR this much? Its about 50-60 PAR increase in most places.

I'm trying to replace my left rock with an HNSA.
