RO tastes disgusting

From what I've heard rodi water can be used to remove toxins from your body because it does in fact absorb pretty much anything around it.

FWIW, I do not believe that makes sense. RO/DI water is not significantly better at dissolving most organic molecules than is typical tap water.

That is simply wrong. Stomach fluids are not bile. Wikipedia has it correct:
Bile tends to be alkaline on average. The pH of common duct bile (7.50 to 8.05) it is not stomach acids.
I stand corrected. Thanks to you and others here for setting me straight.
So who do I believe? Wiki or webmd? Well I will pick Wiki if that is what you use Randy.
It is unbelievable that a medical website would be so incorrect.

I picked Wikipedia because it was right, not because I’d always side with it over web MD. :)

You could be right I see I could've worded it better but that's what I heard. I know water does absorb things around it which is why some people won't drink a glass of water that's been out all night. My thought process is that it's great at taking on salt sugar calcium etc.... so when you strip it off everything there more space for something else to take that space.

Again I'm no expert

That's may sound reasonable, but its not how solubility works.

For example, the solubility of calcium chloride in water, for example, is largely unrelated to the presence or absence of potassium nitrate. That's a fundamental principle of chemistry.

If you can't tell by now I failed chemistry lol

When you think about it places like south America naturally has water that gets down into the 5s and they've been drinking it for ages. Just my 2 cents because I'm not a biologist.
Where exactly does the "RODI water" store these toxins, minerals it leaches from your system, etc??? Once you ingest it, it mixes with whatever else is in your stomach (or organs, or blood, as water is in every part of the body) and no longer has any independent "agency" to do ANYTHING!

Every time someone posts this type of thing it reminds me of that Seinfeld episode where the woman accidentally eats a desiccant packet, lol!

I can say Seinfeld was a pretty good show. And Elaine looks great for her age today. Lol but I always try at least to leave room for something I may be wrong about.

You may be right about RODI not leaching minerals from your body, but I will play it safe and not drink it. Although why does softened water leach minerals from the bottom of water heater tanks and exposing corrosion that is sealed from the minerals that settle out of hard water and suddenly leak?

I tested RODI water and is certainly acidic, I just tested again and I get 6.0 or less. When I run the same water through alkaline filters I get a ph of 7.2-10 depending on the speed of water flow.
It may interest you to know that the big water dispensers (with the big bottle on top) in every almost home in China and Asia are proudly labelled that they are RODI water. They don't remineralise the water as that adds to the cost of what is an essential item. (Tap water is not generally drinkable even in Shanghai/Beijing).

You can get remineralised water if you want to pay a buck per 5 gal bottle instead of a few cents per bottle.

People get all the vitamins and minerals they need from food, not from water.

PH testing RODI water can give any result because, as I said, it has no buffering ability. It will easily absorb CO2 so can easily look acidic even though it is a misleading reading.
