Feather Star is a bit misleading. They’re actually an echinoderm known as a Crinoid. They’re an ancient clade that’s been around for about 490 million years.

It’s so simple to set up a native jar . I wonder if any members want to have a go . If you live near the sea that is . Great fun for you and the kids.

Just looked this fact up how old is sea weed. Don’t go on the internet like I did what do you think everyone. Next post gives the answer

These many-celled algae—the first true seaweeds—appear a little over one billion years ago and divided early into two of today's three major seaweed groups: the red seaweeds, whose earliest known representative is the billion-year old fossil Bangiomorpha, and the green seaweeds, represented by the billion-year old ..

This Irish lady knows her sea weeds

Paleontology is a hobby of mine of sorts. I’ve got 3 main interests when reading . Science Fiction, Fantasy, and science related non fiction, half of which that have in the bookshelves is either paleontology or archaeology. The other is nature/life sciences.

Hope your keeping well hope your reefs are doing great and growing. That lady knows her sea weed more than me but I love learning things I am interested in. In my younger days I road raced motorcycles so I still have a interest in themand all things in nature and definitely the sea . Trying to get some people over from Facebook but it is easier for them to put there info on there than join r2r then post. If not I will do some videos and post . But there is loads of people with great info it’s just a matter of getting them to the group . Your interests are great steve . My daughter is at university learning Geography she is like a sponge loves learning.

Geography is a lost science here in the states to the common person. Ask them where things are….simple things like what’s your state capital. They could be living in it and get the wrong answer. America is the home of the proud, brave, free and just plain ignorant for the most part. By the way I’m glad your daughter loves learning like you do.
