Started the tank a little over 2 years ago. Biocube 32. For filtration really simple brs rox carbon, filter fossil, and the biocube protein skimmer. I had a g4 xr15 for lighting. My ato has kalk 1 tsp per gallon. Stocked with a clown goby and cardinal. I rescued a biocube 29 a couple months after setting this one up and it thrived. Nothing seemed to work right with this one. Nothing really seemed to grow well. Never even developed coraline. I made mistakes with aquascape (my first tank lots of lessons) and it restricted flow. I decided to take half the rock out. A little after removing the rock I had a massive outbreak of hydroids. When my ato malfunctioned and my lps polyp bailed I decided to give the tank a little reset. I used the black carabsea sand and a fellow reefer told me how they can contain heavy metals so I switched to figi pink and removed all the hydroid infested rock and switched it with the previously removed rock. A couple of weeks after this my xr15 stopped working. I contacted ecotech and they suggested changing the fuse. Well this tank is cursed and my clumsy fingers pulled the fuse bracket off with the fuse. I'm not sure how to fix this so I busted out the orphek v4 that I won in a raffle. It is ridiculous hanging over a biocube but it is better than nothing. I have just had the fish and a couple of astrea snails for about 3 months now. Starting to get some coraline and I was just considering adding coral when the snot started. As far as feeding. I feed flake food once a day a very small amount. The clownfish is convinced I am starving him. Maybe once every week to week and a half i sub the flake food for mysis shrimp when I feed my anemone tank. Hope that gives you some insight.
