RODI/Tap

I started with one of these cheap ones and quickly upgraded. I'd say anything 40g and up get a better one. I went with the BRS 5 stage and love it. Easier to see when filters should be replaced, flush valve and built in TDS meter are well worth the extra money.
Um, question. So on all my faucets the part you twist out is inside the part where the water comes out. I can unscrew the part from the faucet but the part I attach the adapter to is inside the faucet. Anything else I can do?

You want something like this for the cold side. Just make sure you get plastic.

How many stages is sufficient enough? I’m seeing 3-7. Does 3 not work as well as the 7?

So towards the they talk about chemi-pure blue and it does take care of the contaminants. Did I misunderstand or am I correct?

What’s the benefit of the flush valve and TDS meter?

the flush valve helps rinse out stuff that builds up behind the RO membrane and should extend its life...the TDS meter lets you see the tds of the water you're making and lets you know when the resin is used up ( tds no longer 0)

So do y’all feel an RODI is essential?
If you want an immaculate longterm tank like WWC displays and most people’s reefing dreams……yes. If you are fine with an average tank that has basic corals and inverts and battle algae you can make it work short term. Things will live with tap water tanks. But, heavy metals and other things you don’t want in your reef tank will build up over time.

I have an under the kitchen sink RO DI system that provides great water for drinking tea, coffee and cooking. It also provides 0 TDS water for My Reef tank. This thing has paid for itself numerous times over. Just get one, you'll be happy you did.
