Just as a reference polyps always have the potential to change color as they mature. A prime example is my signature rainbow acro. Anyone that has it in good conditions can tell you that polyps start as green/yellow. As that portion of the acro matures, the tissue color and polyp color changes. The end result with mature polyps in my rainbow acros is hot red polyps. BUT, like many other acros, if not in prime conditions all of those colors are subject to change![]()
Ya the sick tanks like yours!SO TRUE!!! I think there are quite a few corals that need to get to mini colony size before there true colors really show off. Some for better, some for worse. Mostly I find they get better and better with age and size in my reef. I haven't found the sweet spot for my Joe"s Rainbow Acro or My RR Avenger yet. Both need to color up and develop those awesome red polyps!!!
Time will certainly tell on the RR JawDropper. I surmise that some folks will get awesome color out of it and some wont, just like a lot of frags and colonies we all share amongst ourselves. There are those stellar tanks out there that have such SICK colors while someone else with many of the same corals wont get the color pop.
