If you like to collect rare sps,and i do ,you want to know the company who sells them cares beyond the sale and does work to protect the value and lineage of a coral,and they do that.Price and everything else aside those are the buyers personal choice to spend the money

I understand this to an extent. I had a nice pair of English bulldogs. when I would sell them for 5k a pup before the litter would even drop I couldn't just say its an English bulldog Lineage is god YK.... coral example.... tons of mummy eye chalice out there right but the cb 3g is the best hands down. vendors will get the same acros over and over same structure color every thing but there is always that one, that's a lil better than the other 10 taken that year . I want the best one if I am going to spend the cash.

he bought it direct from two guys corals - i facilitated the sale to him and have a picture of his frag in the guys' possession before it was sold to him.

Back to lps1212's question, the couple of frags that have surfaced do look pretty. How they will look as colonies, no one seems to know yet. Whether or not it turns into a beauty like the original picture of the mother colony , this acro will likely always have a very special lore associated with it. Ever slightly reminiscent of the $500 efflo except a little inflation built in and a tremendous amount of added drama.

I do want a frag of this coral but may not get it for a while. I have a purple monster not because it's the prettiest coral in the tank, but rather because it has a lot of history associated with it. The purple monster is exciting to have because it holds a special place in acro collecting history

Some english bulldogs cost around 40k, awesome looking dogs.

yea I see your point only time will tell how these frags mature and see if anyone can come anywhere near to the pic RR Canada provided us awhile back

My thoughts on the who has what debate is this:

RR Canada used to have a bunch of awesome sticks that allmost all of us in the states couldn't touch, people even begged for them, haha. Then RR USA opened and it took a while but they are now offering some pretty sweet stuff. I'm not sure it's the same exact stuff as RR canada has but I don't care either as long as it's awesome. I'll leave the RR Canada stuff to the Canadians and enjoy their pictures.

You know it Adam, I myself never saw and never will see this hobby as a money maker for myself.
Believe me, I had enough opportunities but leave it to guys like you.
That said, you know where my first free JD frag is going, that is if the buyer who I have lined up is not backing out.
