When my wife walks in the room and point out something is wrong, that I already know:oops::D

When people outside the hobby say or do things because they don't understand. I'm not mad at them, its not their fault. It's a very esoteric hobby after all.
It's just irritating when they say/do things like:

"All that green fluffy stuff looks so natural!"

*looking at a thriving tank full of coral which are growing and colouring up nicely* "Oh, you only have rocks? Why would you want a fish tank without any fish?"

*moves mag float*

"Why did you pay $50 for a red rock?"

*touches glass*

"Do you have nemo?"

"I caught this foot long puffer fish last night. I was going to bring it to your house but didn't have a spare bucket"

*fiddles with lights*

"You had fish delivered to your door? How did they do that?"

Them: If I catch a fish, do you want it?
Me: Only if it's *this* specific species and smaller than *this*.
Them: Why don't you want a big one?
Me: So I don't have to take it back to ocean next week because it's already twice the size I'm comfortable with for it to be in my tank.
Them: Nah they'll be right. They can live in a bucket of water for days! You can't kill those fish even if you try. Do you have a filter? It'll be right in your tank!

I've heard all of those things over the years.

Oh, and the prices. I really hate that too!

Hey, I like where you're coming from! Nothing wrong with a strong stance. And I'll agree, the only FOWLR fish that hold my attention are Triggers. Spectacular fish, intelligent, and very colorful.

I feel comfortable saying any aspect of SW fish is matched by FW fish. I'll show you a few FW fish to give you an idea of what I'm talking about.

Lol. I like where you are coming from too. Gnarly fish. Fish are awesome no matter what.

well after finding nemo and dory movies ....ppl think your the devil for having a reef tank all the while there eating somones body part but judging you for reefing.

That's when you say to the hippy, "i think it's time to order another fish!"

When friends and family think lights cost about a hundred bucks and fish are only about a buck or two. Then you tell them the real price and they give you sh... Flak about your hobby even though they spend thousands of dollars on whatever their hobby is.

Agreed lol. I think if my favorite fish weren't the big weird looking one's with teeth i'd be a FOWLR guy honestly -- Let me know if you find any dwarf SW barracuda that top out around 3-4" and you've got a convert for life haha.

The dinos I'm currently battling...

I can tell you what I've done. I had dinos twice, beat them once slowly, then beat them VERY quickly (less than a week) after what I had learned from the first bout...

They HATE nutrients, and h202 (or bio load) in the skimmer air intake line.

A couple days after removing majority of my siporax, dosing 0.15 po4 (not a typo, 0.15), and 5 ml/g no3 the dinos disappeared. Something about nutrients makes them struggle... A lil h202 in the skimmer line does wonders too.

1st time, took me 2 months to battle. Second time, 4-5 days max.

I know pouring po4/no3 into your reef scares most people -- But once you've tried EVERYTHING else and it's still kicking, give this a shot.

When I pull my arm out of the tank and the water drips down my arm, inside my sleeve.... sometimes it makes it all the way to my side! Ack!;Yuck;Facepalm

My tank is much taller than I am... which would explain how that happens a lot ;)

People pointing at fish, almost touching the glass....or actually touching the glass.

That was going to be my reply!! I'm like .... really???? What would you like them to do ??
