Saltwater Tanks: What do you hate?

I have yet to see a nice looking freshwater fish. The ugliest salwater fish is still nicer/more interesting than the best freshwater. Freshwater fish are boring. IMO

Just a lack of experience – keep your eyes open! :)

There's certainly room for opinion on both sides of the equation. There are boring fish in the ocean and in lakes, pods and rivers. But there are plenty of interesting ones too. :)

I reckon fresh water fish photos are always far better than the real deal. You cant get the electric colours that are found in marine fish. Angels, damsels, wrasses clean the floor with discus and tetras.

Um....most photos are better than the real thing. Period. (Thank digital cameras and photoshop for that!) :D

Did you know that all the marine fish we're familiar with are descended from freshwater fish?

Why are there so few fish in the sea?

People calling my tank a fish tank like I'm keeping goldfish or something. I really don't care that much about the fish it's all about the corals!

I hate the moment I get the tank settled in and everything is growing great something has to break.........my skimmer this time........contaminated water change last time

I recently bought an established system ( 125 mile move no losses!) Previous owners were moving, couldnt keep the tank. Some rock was 7 years wet, all fish were at least 2 years old. I was soo excited, yet i hated tearing down this guys pride and joy, and telling his kids "yep, im taking it all"

I did get over it pretty quickly tho ;)

I can't believe nobody said water changes!

When I climb up on my ladder lean over my tank to get to the coral in the front of the large display tank sand bed and get my boobs wet and my right arm sleeve wet... Looks redunkulous... Really SUCKS!

MARINE VELVET. I curse you for taking so many amazing fish from me! Even with proper QT I am not always successful if the LFS's non-therapeutic copper had masked it.

1. Waiting 24 hours for live aquaria delivery
2. Not mounting corals in the right spot the first time.
3. When seemingly healthy creatures die or get sick and I can't figure out the cause.

Water dripping up my arm and under my shirt while plucking algae and removing it to a bowl

Salt creep
When IC gel doesnt lock into the rockwork I am gluing
Urchins that spatula glued corals
Really really aggressive clowns
Rogue snails that manage to get in everything
Swelling impeller magnets
