SC Aquariums 50 gallon PNP

I would guess a rainbow monti on the unknown. Let it get settled and take another pic. Hope you had a good time.

Oh yeah we had a blast. Packed a lot of fun into a few days. Happy to be back home though.

Glad to see you guys had such a good time.
Looks like a great addition to the tank from LFS today, nice.
Did you see the Neptune Trident running tests at their booth at Aquashella?

I did, I was interested in checking them out. Looks like they had a lot of cool things going on but with the kiddos it just wasn't possible to stop and chat much. The only real vendor I chatted with was Kessil because they had a cool half and half tank. I stopped to ask about the tank but it was just made to showcase their lights.

Pretty much sold me on the idea of running a fuge on a reverse light cycle to keep the PH and what not rock steady.

I'll likely buy a kessil just based on that interaction lol.

AI had a cool tank setup showing the flow of thier powerhead with little glow in the dark beads or what not. Pretty cool.

We were there about 3.5 hours, 1 hour was spend waiting in line. 30 minutes was spent waiting for my son to get out of the restroom. Another 30 minutes was spent waiting for my family to finish eating. The other hour or so was spent rushing through aquashella lol.

A solid fuge light that quite a few people on here use w/out dropping kessil money. I like kessils, I have a pair I used on my old tank, might pull them out for my current one. Kessil had great customer service to me and took the time to explain the data and how to apply it to my setup.

Just some advice on your dose tubes. Can you easily flip the line holder around to dose into the bubble trap waterfall, looks like 2 screws. The return chamber is a very calm environment compared to the bubble trap. Your solution will get mixed into the water better there than straight into the return and drifting to the pump sucker.

Ok, that makes sense. Shouldn't be hard at all to flip around the holder and tubes. I will do this in the morning. I thought the return area was a good area but what you said makes more sense. Thanks!

Some random pics from our little mini vacation. The line for aquashella was around 700 feet long (continues for approximately 550 feet to the right of the picture). Way longer than we expected. My fiancee also forgot to pack us jackets. I always carry a jacket in my car but opted to cover up the baby lol. I think like everything else your experience is all about what you make. We didn't get to do the Sea Life Aquarium that is affiliated with lego land, but we will be sure to check it out the next time we are in Dallas/Fort Worth. Headed to the tulip farm now! Happy wife happy life lol.

Looks fun! I do the reverse fuge light on mine like the kessil people were telling you, it works as advertised. I only do 4 hours off though, during peak light in the display.

That little light why me posted @ 150 watts and the size of your middle chamber would be a very good fit. Try to black out the fuge walls if you go that route. You will have algae growing in your skimmer and all chambers if it gets any light. Black sticker vinyl or a custom acrylic sump in your future I see.

Since I didn't buy anything at Aquashella I decided to treat myself here in town.

Stopped by the LFS on the way home.

My Duncan had fallen over while I was away. I need to buy some rubble rock and attach my corals to the rock. Especially for the ones in the sand.

This leather toadstool was $55.

Finally got my pulsing Xenia. They were "out" but found me these two little frags for $5 each. They had a good 6" little garden growing on the racks of thier frag tank but the kid that was helping me mentioned something about not being able to frag it directly from the frag rack.

Picked up a frogspawn $35 I believe.

Got this SPS. $55 I believe. Anyone know what it is?

Got this GSP. I swear it was highlighter yellow!

Pic from the store, no filter. Looked even brighter in person.

Here is my Xenia pulsing.

Mushroom is splitting still!

Added a couple of fans.

Plugged in the dosing unit! Fixing to play with that.

Sps looks like a rainbow montipora. It’s a cool one.

yeah i didn't put my fuge light super low and didn't block out walls, insta algae covered sump + skimmer lol

I think I'm going to make a curtain out of mylar to keep the light contained to the middle chamber as much as possible.
And paint or black out the walls
