SC Aquariums 50 gallon PNP

Few pics right after my weekly water change. Something always rocks of my Duncan lol. I think it's the wrasse but not sure. They are always open except for when I'm taking pics of course.

How about this guy?

Blue Gudgeon Dartfish

that's what my mom has in her tank. i actually bought 2 of them and had them for awhile, but when i switched tanks i gave them to her. one died somewhere along the way and now she has just the one. it hangs out in a hole with a yellow watchman goby and pistol shrimp.

they might be more brave if you have more of them, but when i had the two they were just terrified of their own shadow, so.. at least three i'd think?

That may be why a trio is recommended. Not sure I'd want 3 though.l

yeah I think I'd add at least 3 if you go with those guys. idk, other options just aren't really great. I forgot you have some nice acans so I probably wouldn't try an angel.. macneils assessors are beautiful, but super hard to find. I've only ever seen them in person at the Long Beach Aquarium and the blue is very different from a damsel, much darker blue, almost a dark purple.

Not blue, but if I lose my lyretail anthias I'm totally getting a fathead sunburst anthias. Awesome fish that does well solo in smallerish tanks. That'd give you a pretty cool orange/pink thing going on.

Hmm maybe I just need to start up the fuge, get some pods going and order up an ora Mandarin Goby. I could feed frozen before work, after work, and then before bed. That's 3 times a day plus any pods that survive my wrasse. What do you think?

idk, I've never had one. I think the general rule is 50 gallons per pod eater and the wrasse is a pod eating machine so.. but those biota mandarins eat frozen or pellets or something, so.. maybe? I'd ask eatbreakfast how getting a biota one would change things, I'm sure he knows.

AFIK they need to eat constantly is the main issue. so even feeding 3 times a day might not suffice.. but I saw some guy's 13 gallon tank with a nice fat mandarin and he said he just target feeds it and has had it for quite awhile. So.... maybe? lol

I found this place for fish last week. Not sure if you've seen it. I can't recommend them as I haven't ordered from them YET.

So Mandarin Goby is definitely a no go with my current size tank and two pod eating fish according to eatbreakfast, which is understandable.

Hmm maybe I'll just get this guy. Stripes may be purple but they look blue to me! close enough!

Noooooooo not my basslet!!
LOL yeah I'll be getting some fish very soon. It's my daughter's birthday in 15 days so gonna get her a fish or couple. Maybe a goby shrimp pair that she wants so badly.
