SC Aquariums 50 gallon PNP

Today's parameters.

Magnesium seems a little high but still within reason so not going to focus on the exact values. Pretty much everything is right where it needs to be I think.

Ordered a small little coral to see how it does.

A 3 headed neon tip torch coral from Blue Line Corals. Should be here tomorrow to replace my fake nem.

Watch your clowns, I bet they go in there sooner than later especially having those plastic ones they loved.
I mean they got real flow and sting for them, they'll love it.

Hmm apparently the clownfish may kill the torch. Seems to happen with smaller torch's from what I'm reading. Ehh oh well if they kill it I'll get an anemone. I still hope they host the torch lol.

They are swimming in place near the torch. I think rhey are looking for their nem :(. Usually they would be fast asleep by now. I feel 'll one they are stressing a high but we shall see. At least they aren't trying to kill each other at the moment (no aggression since the last posts actually *fingers crossed*).

I wish the tentacles on the torch were a little longer. I'm sure my fiancee feels similar...nevermind jkjk.

All new filter media. DI resin was spent. Figured better to just do all at once. Will make sure to run a little water before putting water through DI this time and only make larger quantities. Less stopping and starting and will see how this one does.

Typically I can get 2 spent di cartridges before changing my prefilters just FYI. Your sediment filter still looks nice and clean, get a meter to test what is coming out of the RO membrane before DI. If it's sitting below 4/5 you're still good to go! But good on your for staying on top of it. Congrats on the first coral, looks good.

Roughly I had 325 TDS going in and about 13 TDS coming out after the RO. Thats from memory from about a week ago. I think you are right I could have gone longer with the prefilters. I also bought chlorine test to test the waste water to check when carbon is depleted. Figured I'd lose the prefilters somewhere so opted to just replace them. I'll keep that in mind though as it is a little wasteful.

Nice looking build! Those cabinets are my favorite that SCA makes.

Got the setup new for $800 shipped. Very glad I went with the upgraded cabinet. Love the color. Should have a cabinet pretty close in color coming in next week for the power cords and miscelanious junk.

If the color is far off I may paint it but I'm not too picky. As long as it's some form of grey I think I will be happy.

Those filters are fine still.

I'm in the dejunking mood. With the move everything that isn't nailed down is getting thrown away. Lol. I'm the opposite of a hoarder. I'm not sentimental about most stuff and I'm like throw it all away! I'll work on that lol.

Ha I'm the same way when I move. I've moved 5 times in the last 6 years and it felt so good to toss all the trash and unused appliances in the dumpster. By this point I've gotten a good feel for what I'll use and what I won't!

Torch seems bigger and bigger every time I walk by. Can't help but share lol. Don't worry soon I will have more variety.

Ordered more snails and a few small crabs to add to the CUC. After the move had some diatoms come back pretty good. Should be here some time next week.
