I like to solder, but dam! That is a lot of connections my friend. Awesome job! I really want to see the finished product for sure!

U know what, it actually didn't take me as long as I thought it would. I pre tinned all the stars, and it was a breeze soldering star to star. The worst part was cutting and stripping all the wire, that part sucked. Back when I first started researching DIY LEDs a few years ago, nobody ever said whether to use stranded or solid. I've always liked stranded wire better, so I went with that. On my first 2 led builds, it was a pain cutting the stranded wire and trying to twist it before I soldered. After using my brain a little bit, I figured solid wire would be much easier to solder with. Well I was 100% correct. Going with solid wire probably cut an hour+ of time off this build. I used 22g solid wire for all the stars, and I'm using 20g stranded to connect the drivers.

Hopefully someone reading this, that's planning on doing a DIY led can learn from my mistakes.

Got a new stand for my skimmer. What a difference. In just an hour, the skimmer had a huge head of foam. For the past month, I haven't been able to dial in this skimmer. I Realized the skimmer stand was built too short. Simple fix, just took me awhile to get the stand from my sump builder.

More full tank shots man! And yeah, as an electrician I am not a fan of solid wire at all. However, in some situations it has its purpose.

This is awesome, finally caught up with the thread.

I have a sort of strange question... Do you have any pictures of the overflow/grate teeth? I would like to get a lemar tank with external overflow much like yours. Thanks!

Tagging along.. Nice build on that light.. I'm in planning stages of a diy light and was checking out Steve's LEDs also
