I’d take a Scopas over a yellow tang any day. I think their more subtle colors are a nice contrast to the colorful corals

Thanks, it was always in the back of my mind to try at least one more once I had the big boy and yellow sorted, people keep multiple yts so I thought why not, I got very lucky that the rescue and baby are both females as far as I can tell so in theory a male and three females!

Not really, as soon as I saw her I asked what she was as I knew that it was not a yt, not rare in the hobby but unusual.

I had 5 . Gem, purple, scopus, and salifin. The killed my yellow

Excuse the glass, the yellow is a xanthic scopas but the other 3 all show different colours, the xanthic female and large male have spawned, I think I have worked out how to sex them and by pure luck I appear to have a male and three females!

The yellow is a xanthic yellow scopas, I have four scopas tangs now, thing get s bit frisky between some of the girls!

It is not the normal yellow tang - it is a yellow to orange scopas - probably from the northern parts of the Philippines

Never had a yt, how about two scopas tangs, my yellow scopas female has spawned with my large brown male?

Nice ! Well everything I read says a yt and Scopus won't do very well and I have alot of rock work so it wouldn't be easy to get out. Soo going to scrap that idea.
Did you put your 2 in at the same time ?

I think scopas and lavander tangs are equally underrated.lavander possibly even more then the scopas since there's the yellow hybrid and koi scopas that do attract people the the family. The lavander is absolutely stunning when in whiter light and happy.
