Yes you are correct. But I think you do need to buy the second pump kit or something. The part to link the existing pump to the base is not included.

Yes not recirculating but counter current. U just feed a all water pump to the top hook up of the skimmer body cylinder. I havent seen that kit yet. Also waiting to hear back from seachem.

Is that what the knob under the pump is for? With the 2 sticks poking up? For the 2nd pump kit and recirculating add on? I bought it today and picked it up. Assembled it. Havent had time to rinse and pull my cs6 out.

Is that what the knob under the pump is for? With the 2 sticks poking up? For the 2nd pump kit and recirculating add on? I bought it today and picked it up. Assembled it. Havent had time to rinse and pull my cs6 out.

That stick is for adjust the flow and air ratio as well. The instruction says screw it light so you get max flow into the pump.

Got it up and running. Im using a sicce. 0.5 pump to help circulate the tornado inside the skimmer body. It actually does not go counter current. Just spins the water tornado faster. Holding the bubbles in the body longer. I turned down the water intake a little on the regular pump it came with just to try and quiet the output a little...with the 2 pumps it was spilling up over the troft thing. Air is wide open.
I will say and agree the output is noisey. Idk why they did this! Lol.
Gonna see what i got in the morning but so far after about 20mins im gonna say this is a better skimmer than my cs6. Granted im comparing a $230 retail skimmer to a $370 one. I might have to sell my lifereef. Lol

How is the noise level? I had mine for few hours now. The air silencer has an annoying humming sound. The maxspect ad600 I had before is dead silent.

I got mine next to silent. If your vibrating, something is loose from assembly. I posted instructions on how I dialed it in and no air noise. I did notice some if air is full open, or water in silencer

Update. Talked to seachem. Recommened 1-1.5x the volume flow rate through the skimmer for the 2nd pump.
Also said the recirculating add on isnt available yet.
