Show me your Kessil 360we tanks!

Ive read a lot of people say a kessils true par cannot be read accurately with a par meter. I'm not trying to argue just wishful thinking. Worst case I'll add a few t5 bulbs later on

There's partial truth to that but part of that is because the blues which the apogee now measures. If u have an sps dominant 16" max, ask kessil

Chiming back in here...I bought the par monitoring kit (pmk) for my apex system. Had crazy weird readings. Ended up emailing Kessil and they flat out told me that par wasn't a good way to measure Kessil output. Trying to find their original email. By that being said, I agree with more coverage as opposed to less, especially if you're going with sps / clams.

i was just looking into that same meter on BRS, i just picked up the ap700 and i want to get some numbers... worth the $325?

I have a 90 gal. I run 2 a160we and 4 hot5 (ati bulbs) on.......... You ready?......... 2 Home Depot 4' fixtures. There I said it. Lol. (I have other ballasts to replace with if they should fail from an old ati 4' fixture. I know the reflectors aren't there so I have a lot of unusable light, but for what I have it works GREAT. Nice growth and polyp extension as well as coloration. So far so good. Here's a few pics of what it's done.
Started as a 4 head frag, think 14 now: they're a little sunken and mad at moment as I had to dump sand off. My goby thought it'd be a good place to spread it out. Lol.

My zoanthids and palys love it. Everything happy and thriving. I have had losses, but non light related, more my lack of knowledge when starting.

Bummer, wish I had found this thread this morning, I have 2 360WE's over my Reefer 250 and just bought one of those biotek par meters Are the par levels worth checking at all with them? If not I'll just resale packaged new. Shoulda done my homework better!

And a local company that builds and maintains tanks for offices and restaurants and the like told me 2 360WE's were best for good sps growth in a 36" and that I could probably go up to 3 if I wanted, haven't had them long enough to confirm but I've seen some of the tanks they manage and I trust their opinion.

I just thought of something purely my opinion but wouldn't Kessil always suggest more lights as a solution? More coverage is always better of course but at $400 a pop of course they'd rather you buy 3 over 2. [emoji51]
