Silicone separating on Red Sea tank???

@TheKylersFire Sorry to hear that you had to waste so much of your time and effort only to have to tear it all down because of the tank manufacturers poor quality control.
It’s even more disturbing to hear that they aren’t handling this in an expeditious manner.
Manufacturing issues can happen to the best of companies. However customer service and satisfaction is where they should always excel.
Please keep us posted.

Good lord! I’d post this in their vendor forum. What has happened to Red Sea they once were well respected now their stuff is pure garbage
I have been slowly breaking my wife down on letting me get a bigger tank and was hoping for RS but after all these problems and questionable customer service, I know where I won't be spending my money at.

I was supposed to hear back by the end of today with a shipping confirmation. They did say they would send a replacement but still no shipping info. Sounds like at best it will ship tomorrow which likely means mid next week delivery. Shame as i was hoping they could get it out first thing tomorrow and potentially have it to me by friday so i could get it up for the weekend

Always loved the look of red sea reefers but this has really made me question whether they are the future upgrade for me! Fingers crossed the tank is on the way to you and they just haven't sent shipping info yet!

@TheKylersFire, sorry to see the situation you are dealing with. I am sure RedSea will help you out.

As for bottom bracing, Glass Cages use bottom euro-bracing as a standard. We have building tanks for over 37 years this way. Don't change a good thing.

Have you guys ever tried glass triangular corner bracing? Kind of cool, though I am not sure how structural it is. (as opposed to just protecting the silicon from glass scrapers etc.

It's shocking to me that a manufacturer supplying tanks that seem to fail left and right, openly hides the evidence of failures from the public, blocks their loyal and concerned customers (what the heck), takes their sweet time replying to urgent emails, etc., yet somehow they maintain such popularity and praise within the hobby. The lack of TRANSPARENCY is what really bothers me (maybe even more so than the failing tanks). From the outside looking in, they are shady at best, especially in comparison with the rest of the tank manufacturers out there. IME there are vendors out there who are 100% honest, their top priority is their customers and it shows, they will do whatever it takes to please and/or solve any issue big or small right away.

The issue here is that Red Sea for the most part doesn't monitor this Forum much if atall. So getting attention from them here is futile. You can't post anything like this on there Facebook group either because the Red Sea die hard Mods will delete it and block you (One can only assume that is why they steer clear of being active on here as they have very little control of what goes on).

Now most are aware of the huge volumes of failures Red Sea has been having over the past year. There step into the larger tank market seems to have been either a rushed decision or a poorly executed one. However, there are a few things other than poor silicone that "May" have caused this. @TheKylersFire once you've drained the tank, contact Red Sea Directly and speak with them. Once things have been worked out, or not, feel free to let us know. I'm sorry to hear you have to go through this on what I can only assume was a VERY exciting new build.

I will add that I reached out to Red Sea about there behaviors on there FB group and other things. They did respond with a rather poorly thought out email. And personally, this extinguished any hope of me recommending them to anyone for anything ever again. But that doesn't mean they won't make things right here.
Agree 100% on all accounts.

Yep. I happened on my 650 Peninsula same location
I would be curious to hear more about your experience. How long did it take them to replace? Did they give you the run around? Today they asked for all sorts of photo id, more and more pictures, even said they were going to send out a Red Sea dealer to inspect. I finally got aggressive with them and told them 30+ people on R2R instantly agreed it needed replacement as well as the company I bought it from.

I like the look of the Red Sea tanks and the stand and sumo are actually really solid so far and a great setup. I didn’t look in more then 2-3 places and it was hard to beat the modern look of the all in one. My wife liked the look and the dimensions fit perfectly in the space I had for it. I want to give them a chance to make it right but I do get the sense of jump through all these hoops we give you and then we will decide if we replace it or not rather then yeah we screwed up let us take care of that ASAP.

This is a shame, definitely taking redsea off the next build list. Probably will go for everything. Best of luck with it and hope you get it resolved sooner than later.

Scary... I've placed an order for a 525XL just a few days ago, so watching this thread very closely. Good luck - hope you get it sorted it soon!

Crazy right? That's why I made the thread below. Whats even crazier is... in the middle of all this they release an even bigger tank. How about you slow down, and address all your current problems first. Just the fact that they are are shady is why I would never buy any of their products.

People questioning RS after OP thread should read this one. Very sketchy stuff going on by RS and great point here. After the 750 stand fails they make a 900!! Lol I can’t believe it.

Don't want to derail the thread. Here's an image of my red sea 650 peninsula

Maybe just the picture, but the corner edge on the right looks like the glass has taken an impact and is broken, or is it just me?

Nope. That's all you, may be due to the reflections.

Alright! I'll make another cup of coffee and recalibrate my eyes lol

The picture is misleading at first glance. Almost looks like a hammer hit it or something, but upon closer look at the pic, you can see it is not. Good luck to you all.
