Sirius' Rimless Shallow Mixed Reef (Singapore)

Hi mates,

I am from Singapore and am excited to share the set-up of my latest tank.

This will be my second tank following my return to this wonderful hobby last year. I envision this tank to be an exotic mixed reef, with predominantly my all time favourites consisting SPS, Acans and Zoas.

Hope to hear some comments and appreciate any advice from all in this forum while i chronicle the journey of my reef tank!

Here's the delivery of my cabinet to my place!

They had to remove my door handle n shoe cabinet doors for it to fit through my main entrance. [emoji28] the width of the cabinet is 34"

Here's a picture after it came through! The tank will be situated in my balcony!

Here's the cabinet as it was moved in. Notice that the main door handle was removed to accommodate the cabinet's width [emoji28]

And now... after it goes to the balcony where I intend it to be.. it will hide and integrate the water tap outlet and electrical point that will be the source of energy for this reef.

Fast forward three weeks after the delivery of my cabinet, the most important part of the reef arrives - my display tank and sump! [emoji38]

The display will be a 48" by 24" by 18" tank, made of 12mm crystal clear glass. The sump's dimensions.... will remain a mystery for now. [emoji23] I had planned for it to accommodate the equipment I had in mind.

The tap water outlet will be hooked up to a RODI unit for evaporation top-up as well as for water changes. [emoji5]

Three men to lift this beast. It must be very heavy!

I was contemplating between an external overflow or an internal one. Decided on the latter in the end and thus the main consideration would be to make its footprint as less intrusive as possible within the tank.

Just Curious ......

By setting the tank on your balcony, would it cause the tank to have excess algae growth ?
How hot and cold is the weather in Singapore ?
