Skimmer show off thread. Lets see them

Who's next.. what do you want to show off..

Come on you know you want to. Big or small we don't care let's see them. Don't forget some tank stats though.

always nice to see it in action before you buy! that thing is a beast!
I'm loving it. The L2 Vectra ozotech pump running the recirculation through the venturi. Its pretty quite.

The price point is really good too. Rated up to 2k gallons. You all should check out there new XFLO series that are a little smaller more for smaller systems and amazing build quality.

Well its a tunze 9410 dc on a 120 with a 40 breeder sump.

What is the water level in your sump? I run the same skimmer, but can’t seem to find the sweet spot as far as water depth. Built a diy stand out of pvc to run at about 6.5” and seemed to help a little.

Is the issue that your skimmer doesn't make enough foam?

If it’s too deep of water it doesn’t really foam. Just skims really wet. If I try and raise the skimmer to much it pulls a ton of air, but seems to almost surge unless I turn the air way down. Trying to find that nice height where I can just run it wide open and not have to adjust it anymore.

I'll share on the other end of the spectrum! I have a Reefer 250 (~60 gallons volume) with a heavy bioload. I picked up this Reef Octopus Classic 110 second hand on the cheap (~$100) with the intentions of replacing it when I became fully stocked. Here I am 8 months later and I have no intentions of replacing it until it breaks. It just works! I feed heavily and my nutrients are too low to the point where Im considering shutting the skimmer off part of the day.

Also, please excuse the sump lol. Tomorrow's water change is it's planned cleaning.

Looks like it fits your sump well. As long as it's not making foam or skimmate all the time then there's no need to upgrade.

A lot of people think there skimmers have to make foam constantly and in fact it means that it's not big enough if it does. If it stops producing foam means it has removed what was needed and will when needed again. If it makes foam constantly than it's not getting enough out of the water. I'm talking about foam moving out of the neck into the cup.

Yeah that's about 1 week of skimming and a bit of that's with an accident where the skimmer stayed on for a minute with the return pump off (water level rose and added some extra water in the cup).

I won't lie, I've been eyeballin a NYOS skimmer but hey I'll fight the urge and put the money in some more corals.

6.5" at about 30%.
Here is a pic I just took.

Wanted to see what everyone else is running in comparison to the net water in their systems. Leave some info about your system and let's see what everyone is working with.

I'll start.
I have 687 gallons of water in my system and I'm rocking a RK2 Systems RK5AC. Had an ASM G6X
And replaced it with this new one.
Picture below is the two next to each other.
Asm was loud and left a bunch of microbubbles in the water. New one is a beast but quite and no more bubbles in the water.

Enjoy this video of it in action.

So what do you have? Curious to see if anyone has one similar to mine.
Nice !!!

They are really not ran at 100%.
If I go over 50% it gets real wet skim.
Try moving the skimmer ring down that holds the bag. The higher up it is the higher the water level is in the neck.
Start at the lowest level on the dc dial.
I have not adjusted mine since I set it up other than going to 30%. Alot depends on your bio load. I feed 4 times a day.
How long has it been running.
Post a pic.
