Skimmer show off thread. Lets see them

They are really not ran at 100%.
If I go over 50% it gets real wet skim.
Try moving the skimmer ring down that holds the bag. The higher up it is the higher the water level is in the neck.
Start at the lowest level on the dc dial.
I have not adjusted mine since I set it up other than going to 30%. Alot depends on your bio load. I feed 4 times a day.
How long has it been running.
Post a pic.

Yeah sorry I missed the dc part on your first post. Mine is actually the ac model so I can’t adjust the pump speed. Wish I would have come off the additional cash and went dc. I can only adjust air intake and height. It is a really great skimmer and pulls a lot of skimmate out, just trying to find the sweet spot has been kinda of a pain.

Looking at your pic I would lower the water level in the neck. Check where mine is.
I have a non dc but its not up and running on the new tank.
A friend has one like yours and runs it with a water level of 6.5" too. He keeps the water level down in the neck portion like mine and has the air pretty close to closed. He also runs without the filter sock ring.
Skims real good with no adjustment.

My Deltec SCA 1351 with manual wiper lid is running on my Deep Blue 57 gallon rimless tank in a Trigger 26 sump. Total water volume is probably around 55 gallons. This thing absolutely rocks in terms of consistency and ease of tuning. I love that it only draws a mere 9 watts according to my Apex.

Yeah that's about 1 week of skimming and a bit of that's with an accident where the skimmer stayed on for a minute with the return pump off (water level rose and added some extra water in the cup).

I won't lie, I've been eyeballin a NYOS skimmer but hey I'll fight the urge and put the money in some more corals.
I looked at the new nyos at the show it was a good size but I’d need two. It looked pretty but still wasn’t big enough for my tank and was $1300+ I spent more than that on the one I bought but it is so much more than the pretty one. I actually prefer the industrial look anyways

This is at the John G Shedd aquarium in Chicago for the outdoor stingrays tank. Pretty sure I was the only person taking pictures of the equipment lol. This thread seemed like the perfect place for it!

That’s awesome and you know that is a a RK2 systems skimmer so even better. Same maker as mine. Ya buddy...

I’m also the one taking pictures of the equipment at aquariums I love looking at that stuff

Got that fresh air plumb to it as well. Is that a Rubbermaid trough? Those are good if you have room. How many net gallons of water do you have?
That is a 40 gallon I bought at Tractor supply. It is sitting over a 100 gallon Rubbermaid.
It drains down with 2 standpipes so I can exactly control how much water the skimmer runs in.
That pick is a few weeks old. It all looks like this now. I added Ozone a few days ago.

When I get the 75 back up it will be around 400 gallons. I will be drilling it tomorrow.

Nice. I see a list of things I approve of lol.

I have ozone too but don’t use it. I used to use it a lot in my smaller tank with a smaller skimmer. I still might use it now and again but orp average is 440. I’ve noticed having a larger skimmer keeps the orp up once I went to the ASM then it’s even better with the RK5AC

I like your setup. It’s nice to see it like things used to be before the super fancy sumps etc. I personally would rathe spend money on fish and corals so I diy everything I can
