from the out side looking through panel from back where chip is ;Facepalm

If that is at the back of the tank in an a spot that is not normally visible you could get a 3" square piece of 1/2" glass from a hardware store and then silicone it down over the area on the outside with a thin layer of clear silicone to make a patch. I have never tried it but I am pretty certain that there is no way it would break after that it is on. Two pieces of glass siliconed together on their flat surfaces are almost impossible to tear apart.

Personally I would get a new tank but if money etc is an issue that is the only thing I can think of.

dang that sucks, this was going to be the first affordable big build. I was hoping I could just switch out the panels because I got a glass shop right next to me.

If you have a glass shop next to you - maybe suggest that you ask them their opinion? (I,e. is it likely to be a problem or not, etc = and the cost of repair). It does suck - I had a similar but not identical issue - and after I set up the tank - and had it moved in - I didnt sleep well for a year - finally - just had the LFS order me a new tank/stand - and all good...

Yea true, luckily my first passion/hobby was woodworking so I can literally build any sort of stand I want and never have to worry about structural integrity with it. But glass is a little foreign to me, but I also like learning new stuff so who knows, maybe I’ll make this into a project and see what I can learn.

It’s right on the front left, and the location of it is so weird, because it’s right on the front end fw of the side panel where it is sealed to the front facing panel. And you can see it clear as day through the front panel it when looking at it from the side (facing the side panel) it’s like it doesn’t even exist. I still would consider doing that just because I wouldn’t be able to see that side that well anyways.

No if its the front the forget it. If it was as the back you could get away with it.

Ok I am a glazier, not a tank builder so what do I know butttt...

If it is a clam shell like this your are usually fine. If it has any actual cracks (I can't tell from your pics) then that's a no go.

i personally ran a 120g for years that had a clam shell bigger than this
