SnapCrackleD's new 105 rimless

Looks good, can't wait to see what you do with it!

I am stalking you and skim heavy on your builds because I have a pro neo 105 of my own. I love the glass it is so clear, the black silicone, and rimless it is truly beautiful! I bought mine in Fremont, Ca at Neptunes. It was $650.00 only for the tank. I opted to not buy the stand an additional $540.00 because I would like to build my own so I can determine the height and size of the inside for all of my equipment. I sort of think I bit off more than I can chew but I am so stoked and looking forward to this. I am a beginner but have been researching for quite some time. Your tank looks beautiful and I was considering those same lights but I was thinking of doing three's a crowd sort of thing...anyway, awesome job!

I just recently bought the same tank and stand. Finally filled it up today. It's a beautiful tank and love mine. I'll be putting rock in tomorrow.

Same question, and what's your thought on the stand? Good/bad?

Opps. Sorry, been out of the loop here for a while. Sorry for the delay, Munch. But yes, love the stand. It's awesome. Very easy to manuver in and out of the cabinet. And knowing I can take the sump out if anything happens with out removing the tank is a plus.

Thats fine. I've stalked many people online before jumping on my setup. You're braver than me, however. I would have built a stand, but thats a lot of oops error if I didn't do it right. Plus, the Pro stand has PVC lining which has helped a lot with random spills I've had in the sump.

The lights rock. I have the a150 for my 30 gallon, so I knew I liked Kessil. Honestly, I thought 2 wouldn't be enough, but it started to burn out a lot of my SPS', so I have the 10k turned down to almost half intensity now. The blue is aaaaaamazing :)

Oh and side note.... ha ha, I saw your profile... from selling seafood to keeping them a live? LOL. Nice.

Heres a quick update pic of the tank. Sorry for the quality. I have no luck in taking pictures under LEDs.

Here's a better pic from the front, but this was before I decided to throw in that random pillar in the middle for the monti caps.

Maybe it will fix my Karma :squigglemouth:

On a side note, I just drew out my plans for my stand and I will be building it this weekend. Wish me luck!!! I also have a question, I think I may need to post it in the forum but, I'm wondering if it would be legal for me to get rock from the beach by my house, either Half Moon Bay, or Santa Cruz but I cannot find any local laws regarding this. Do you know where to find that info @. It sure would save me some moula for all that rock I need in my tank. Best regards...I love, love, love your tank btw! So sick

Thank you :)

As for the rocks on your shore, I'm going to say probably not legal, but either or, I would think it wouldn't be that great of an idea. You don't really know whats on those rocks, and they may have weird bacteria that may eventually infect whatever live stock you have. But I'm no marine biologist. My first tank I got live rock, but they were from all over the place, so maybe it's no different? This tank, I decided to just get dead rock / sand and seed it with a handfull of live rock and some sand from my other tank. It's a lot more controlled this way, but I still ended up with a couple starfishes, crabs, and urchines. The fun part when I started WAS finding out random hitchhikers on live rock though. But the trouble of catching the bad ones wasn't worth it this time around.

How'd the build go this weekend?

Oh, I also finally got a skimmer! I decided to go with the Vertex Omega 150. I did a bunch or research and this was the winner. Biggest reason was I was sure it would fit my sump ;) But also it was rated over my tank size, and supper quite (a plus!).

Built like a Cadillac of skimmers!
