SnapCrackleD's new 105 rimless

Oh and I threw in a rock from my 29 gallon tank... heres the a little hitchhiker starfishy on the glass.

This is it this morning after running all last night. I'm surprised how fast the sand storm settle, especially with it being sugar fine sand. If I could take a decent pic with the Kessils on I would (the blue over exposes everything), cause they look amazing! :)

Looks great! Question about your sand. I see you ordered some from marcorocks. It says on the website that the sand is very fine and requires a good rinsing. Then it gives an option or either fine, or course.

Which sand did you order? I don't want anything too fine cause I don't want the MP40 pulling up the sandbed.

I guess one more question, could you ramp up your vortech and see how your sand holds up?

Oh god, if I ramped it up, I'm sure they'd fly. I chose the fine sand... you will definitely need to have courser sand to top it off with. I currently have the 2 MP40 on the 4th light. I can do about half way then it'll start to mess the sand up. But I'm sure if given time when the tank cycles it'll be denser.

I washed the sand but not as well as I'd want to, when I filled the tank it looked horrible and milky, but that was last night and this morning it settle... go figure?

I would recommend the fine sand over the course from Macrorocks though, cause fine sand it perfect for DSB and you can always layer it with denser sand.

I always run a 1-1.5 sandbed. Any idea how course the course is?

Nope, no idea actually, but I'm going to guess maybe about 1.0 - 1.5mm (I tried looking online for ya, no luck)? I could be wrong. I wasn't willing to take the chance.

On a side note, I ordered 160 pounds and it was more than I needed for the tank and fuge. I still had about 40 pounds left.

That tank is beautiful!

Here is a picture with just the whites on with the Kessil. I also have a Kessil a150w on my 29 gallon for 3 weeks now and everything in it seems to be happy. Figured I'd mention it if anyone's thinking about the Kessils. I have SPS, Chalices, and zoas.

Great tank and great job!

Man this is a sweet setup! I can't wait until I have the money and room for another (bigger) tank; currently have a Biocube29. Looking forward to some progress pics!
