I just got my first coral for my 10 gallon tank about 2-3 days ago and some are kinda opening but I’m not sure if they are doing good since this is my first time if anyone could look at these photos and tell me if they look good or if something is wrong that would be much appreciated. I also am not sure about the location of them all I’m not sure if I should move any of them up or down.

Corals can take a week or longer to acclimate. Water looks cloudy. How old is the tank? What are your current complete parameters?

The tank is about 6 weeks old and the tank is a 10 gallon breeder with a aqueon quiteflow 10 I have 2 50w heaters and a lominie pixie 30

Tank looks pretty darn fresh... but it can take a while as mentioned above for corals to acclimate to a new home

Ok but what are complete parameters currently? 6 week tank is very unstable for corals. Is the water cloudy in the pics? That can be an algae or bacteria bloom which may deplete 02 in the tank hurting fish.

Ouch. Corals are not happy. I’m addition to above questions, what type of lighting and flow do you have?

Agree the water looks cloudy, but maybe it’s just the pic?

As for asking for placement location, it’s always important to do a 5 minute Google before any purchase. You should know what kind of lighting and flow a coral needs, and also if it is aggressive coral or not.

For flow I’m just relying on the hob filter and for lighting I have a lominie pixie 30

Im sorry when you say complete parameters are you asking like water parameters like ammonia, nitrite, etc?

Your on the right track bud. Your light is not super powerful and all the corals you've chosen are resilient, good candidates for just starting out. Make sure you have some good water circulation and most importantly that your temperature doesn't fluctuate and is at the correct temp. What are you using to measure salinity? I recommend a refractometer if your not yet and make sure it's calibrated. If you've hit all those points be patient and keep us informed. Cheers

Oh ok sorry currently my salinity is about 1.024 my ammonia is 1ppm and nitrites are 2ppm nitrates is about 10 ppm and ph is about 8 I am dosing prime and stability daily
Why are you dosing prime? That is just for use with tap water to remove elements so that you can use it for top off or salt water although the use of tap water is not recommended at all.

I was told by the lfs that I should

I would do 10% WC to at least manage your ammon/nitrite issue.....seems to me that the tank didnt cycle completely (or something big died).....you shouldn't have any nitrites....or at least ultra-low.....

Nitrites are completely irrelevant in salt tanks. They do absolutely nothing to saltwater fish.

That's bad info. If your tank is cycled properly and you do weekly water changes with appropriate salt salinity water and use RODI for top off there is no reason at all to be dosing prime daily into your tank. Do some research on starting a salt system and maintaining a new saltwater tank properly so you don't end up wasting money with your corals dying or worse yet your fish. There's plenty of Google info.
