Looking at that picture…..the tank panels are filthy. And I need to hurry up and add my final sps pieces and get some color fire in there like @coral reeftank has!
you have some amazing colors buddy.

You must not follow my posts :winking-face-with-tongue: :winking-face-with-tongue: :winking-face-with-tongue:

I keep things as simple (not stable) as possible. No chasing numbers. Just ranges for the big 3 and I don’t even test for no3/po4 anymore. Last time I checked they were 45 and 0.38. My tank is only 50g so I can easily do +50% water changes very quickly…….which I do about every month. I only feed frozen PE mysis and nori and I only dose kz flatworm stop. No coral foods, bacteria concoctions etc. I’m not saying they don’t help but I really just don’t care enough to try them.

Don’t pay any attention to the salt reading. That’s not correct. I need to recalibrate it
Are you still double dosing FWS? For your 50-gallons double dose is about half the cap.

@coral reeftank I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your concoction! I definable notice a difference in the sps. Nothing super drastic as of now but this was only week one for me, I definitely see a response from them though once added to the tank. The milli's are starting to look more hairy again which I have been missing. Pectina was bleaching ans seems to be getting darker again, the mushrooms seem to he reacting but I honestly can't tell but they are certainly pooping way more often.

Enough of my blabbing, thanks again!

tell us about the effect of phosphate on the color of acropores. Is the high phosphate content of 0.5 per color dangerous?

Has anyone replaced zeozyme for fauna marin's coral balance? Zeozyme works awesome but having a hard time sourcing it. Looking for an alternative. Also has anyone tried the concoction without zeozyme?

You can certainly use it without zeozym, the biological processes will just take longer to take place, but once the bacteria come out of their dormant stage they will produce their own enzymes and begin decomposing and assimilating the ingredients.

Thanks Allan, the corals are loving the concoction. Planning on continuing dosing it without the zeozym until BRS gets it back in stock.

So there was a frag swap in Illinois yesterday with a lot of SPS experts, and I had the pleasure of running into Alan ( @coral reeftank ).

We ended up discussing his bacterial concoction in depth and his reasoning behind his methods, as well as anecdotes from those who have had success with it.

Anyways, the funny thing is Alan showed up to this frag swap with 10 or so of these bags filled with his yellowy cloudy bacteria culture. He was kind/cool enough to hand them out to a select few individuals, and I will be taking the culture and starting my own / beginning supplementation of it /observe its effects.

Just thought it was cool/inspirational to see someone making such a deliberate effort to help other reefers and progress the hobby. I will be reporting back!

You should put all these beautiful corals pics on a loop in the background of your video. It will keep all the ADD reefers entertained lol. I enjoyed the video. A little confused on the amount of all of the ingredients but I'll mess around and figure it out. I am curious of how much and which specific carbon source everyone is using for what size ml concoction?
