I have had almost all the common algae issues. My fav remedy is Fluco. That stuff works incredibly!

I run a Bubble Magus Doser with BRS 2 Part Alk and Ca. I believe my daily Alk is 50ml and my CA is something like 20. Its been awhile since I've checked. I rarely test my parameters.

When it working, its awesome. The tiny little pumps get junk in them and fail very easily. I have sent a couple back to IM and they have sent new ones out - the result is always the same... works really well for about a month and then locks up. Sometimes a vinegar soak cleans it up, sometimes it doesn't.

Please, tell us more about your Fluco (Fluconazole?) experience!

I used to have an old biocube with what I was constantly battling some sort of algae. Even when I turned it into an extremely low nutrition system (by adding a huge skimmer, NoPoX dosing and cut feeding). Then half of my corals bleached (yeah, no one told me to leave some nutritions in the water, all suggestions I had - "you have algae? lower nutritions!")... Then one of my friends looked at it and said that it's probably Bryopsis. I'm not sure exactly if it's true, but this stuff is tough. No creatures touch them. Snails just day in a few days usually (maybe from starving..).

Now, I got this new Nuvo Fusion 20 in my room and slowly moving rocks from my old tank. I keep the new system in the dark while it's cycling and see that the rest of algae on the rocks is slowly dissolving (gfo is already running, btw). But I'm pretty sure that as soon as I move my corals and turn on the light, the nasty stuff will be back. So, I'm still trying to find a solution for it, but that would not damage my corals this time.
I see on your early pictures you had some patches of algae (hair?):

Did you have to manually remove them until corals significantly overgrew it, or you treated the system with something (Fluco)?

Hey! Sorry, I've been away from the forums for a bit. I took this tank down about 6 months ago. This were growing so well it became unmanageable. Cool problem to have! Instead of letting everything fight, I sold off/gave away the corals and started with a new IM 10 gallon tank - focused on LPS.

Thanks for all the great words of support on this tank. It was a blast.
