Yeah I just got a gen 4 xr30 and scared of bleaching my sps. I'm moving from a 250w radium to the radion and I'm about 35% right now.

Thats smart. Just take it nice and slow. It probably took me 2 months to get the lights to a point I wanted. As long as they aren't dying off from lack of light - there's no rush to get the power up.

Can you shed light on what all filteration you running in your baskets to be skimmerless....
I am just setting up a nuvo 20 tank mainly for anemones... but might do sps too

I run a very simply filtration setup... just filter floss in the top basket. Everything below that is empty. In the chamber next to the left media basket I run an IM Reactor with either Carbon or GFO. Other than that I don't miss a weekly 10-15% water change.

Thanks for the compliments. For the most part, everything was frags. I found a couple progression pics. It really took awhile for things to take of but looking back it feels like it happened overnight. I've had a couple minor rescapes over time.

I'd be happy too. Its all siphon based. Its pretty basic but really reliable. Let me know if the details below don't make sense.
The larger white tube takes water out and adds it back in depending on the valve I have open. This tube sits deep in the chamber.
The tube runs from the tank, through the wall and to a tee union. From there it parts off to two values. One value (left of the tee) opens a siphon to drain. This tube must drain lower than the tube in the tank. The other valve (above the tee) opens the gravity feed of fresh saltwater to replenish. The reservoir (bucket) has to be above the tank in the tube.

Ok I think I get it. The tubes in the photo are slightly confusing but I understand how it works. Is the tube that goes to the tank on the left of the t-union? It just disappears into the sink lol. How much do you change a week or day? Forgive me if you answered this already!

Awesome. Looks like 1-2corals are about to leap out of the water there as it's so packed [emoji6]. Looks like one is nearing the top water line.
Curious if you have pumps on either side of your tank for a more mid water flow for those corals? I see one on the right... nothing on left?

I have been thinking about that a lot lately- right now I only have the MP10 on the right side. The Sicce 1.5 return pump helps with some flow but definitely not enough. The SPS rock on the left is so dense now that it does restrict flow on the left side. I may have to add a small power head on the left.
I am. I keep waiting for reality to hit with a crash or some RTN but the tank is two years running and I haven't lost any coral in over a year.

I do but for some really odd reason the coraline growth on the back wall is VERY minimal. I haven't had to scrape the wall in probably 6 months. I do have it growing on the rocks but I wonder if its getting consumed by the coral faster than the algae can grow.
