Hey everyone! Had to move a zoa this morning. Nearby corals are couple of Zoas, frogspawn, devil’s hand and Hollywood stunner chalice. What would cause this burning blister?

I’ve been washing all day. Noticed it hours ago but as the day goes on it’s hurting more and more and I can’t figure out what did it. I’m stumped.

I’ve never seen one, but anything is possible. It hurts.

Most tanks have bristle worms, and I believe they only really come out at night and hide during the day. But typically if Bristle worm you'll see clear looking hair like brabs sticking out of your skin.

I'm betting you got stung by a coral

Had a buddy years ago that was tearing down a tank. Guy came to pick up the tank, so my buddy is emptying it, and all the live rock in it, and grabbed a bristle worm on rock he picked up, and looked exactly like the picture I attached, but on multiple fingers. ER didn't even know how to help him. He went home and removed them by putting duct tape on it and pulling, repeatedly.

Yep would say any of a variety of bristle worms. I happen to have the nasty little red ones. I'm fortunate enough to not react but it still like sticking your finger in a cactus.

Call me paranoid but I always wear gloves when handling coral or rock because of exactly that. I have a pair that cover my arms to so my foxface doesn’t hit me with his venomous spines while I’m in there.

Foxface hurts like hell !
Lasted for 5 weeks
