Stung by something... what would do this?

Guessing frogspawn. Im surprised it sting you there. It if was a bristle worm youd have hairs sticking out like the pics. I've spent quite a bit of time picking them out with tweezers

Call me paranoid but I always wear gloves when handling coral or rock because of exactly that. I have a pair that cover my arms to so my foxface doesn’t hit me with his venomous spines while I’m in there.
I have a foxface in every tank; the best "working" fish you can have. They don't give me any trouble, but don't take too much false comfort from the glove. That is an easy puncture for them if they are inclined.

Frogspawn. I've been hit by my frogspawn, hammer and torch. They all look like this, sometimes worse

Ive touched my frogspawn and hammer without an issues. Ive cut them both when fragging as well and no issues. Must be lucky or havnt been unlucky yet but after seeing the bristle worm pictures I dont want to grab my rock lol

This could be a bacteria infection, last time I saw it they had to take antibiotics.

Have a look at this thread

Mine don't do it often, just randomly.

Euphelia sting
Dip finger in peroxide and let it fizz. hold on to a bag of ice and if you have, take a Benadryl

Hard to say what it was. Different people have different reactions to what they touch in reef tanks. I've touched or accidentally grabbed torches, hammers and frog spawn without this happening. Same goes for bristleworms. They cant seem to penetrate my calloused hands. My sister on the other hand, has had a bad reation to bristleworms. Said it was similar to stinging nettle, for those that have ran into that before.

I got hit by a frogspawn years ago while moving. Had similar marks on my inner wrist. It got a little ticked off being shuffled around. One reason I don’t have one in my current tank.

So I have a skin disease called lichen planus and one of my medications is called Levicyn. I use it for its anti-itch properties. It’s real use is to relieve itching, burning and pain from radiation dermatitis. Worked like a charm.

Thank you all for helping me figure out what it was.

Could be palytoxin

I was wondering this at first as I know I touched the Zoas directly. But I have no open wound. Can I absorb it through my skin? And I figured I would have had some issues. Pretty sure it was the frog but palytoxin was my first thought.

Gobstopper that I got last week from WWC. I was moving it bc it’s barely been hanging on.
I was just reading a post by mcpeachy asking if the zoa sting should still hurt hours later.
