Swallowed Trident Reagents!

Yet, Neptune was very cagey and didn’t publish them for years (including now).

I was told by support they were on the site. I looked this morning and only came up with the Trident NP SDS. So you are right.

Guess I’ll make a complaint with the proper authorities.

Funny story about that… I used to do it myself back in my football days. Watched a girl take a huge gulp of one of our cups at a party (solo cups usually contain much better substances than those left by a tobacco user). We tried to stop it but were too late and this girl was literally deaf in one ear, so I don’t think she heard our efforts to stop her from across the room among partying young people. To this day I don’t know how she kept her composure but she must have been embarrassed because she swallowed it and without a word or reaction, calmly walked out of the room (I assume to relieve her stomach contents in private). YUCK
She probably thought it was Jagermeister...

Thank you for sharing this story. (I mean the original post, not the spit cup) Even those of us who are highly trained in various areas will have the occasional brain-fart and do something we know is bad practice.

Sharing these sorts of events is a good way to illustrate to someone who doesn't have the training why something as simple as using a old food container for waste can be dangerous.

I found a "food container" on my lawn a few months back? It was to put food recycle scraps in, I figured out but it didn't come with instructions it was just plopped on my front lawn!

The last thing I am going to do with my household food scraps is put it in a container with breathing holes and collect that for a week and then set out the offering on trash day for the wild animals and/or hungry people to eat from before the trash folks get here to collect it.

I am not even discussing the plague breeding possibilities of the container, or the smell that it would produce if I was going to use it. Who thought it was a good idea to save the Planet by collecting used food scraps?

I put the container in the garage and am trying to figure out how to repurpose it for reefing. Otherwise it's just another chunk of planet killing plastic with breathing holes.

One reason why I really like Red Sea, all their MSDS are listed on their website for every product whereas Tropic Marin you have to email them. Less trust in those that are not transparent...

Does anyone know what is in the Trident reagents? I made a really dumb mistake and swallowed a small amount of all 3. I was using an empty mountain dew can for liquid waste while cleaning the cuvette and lines. Brain went on autopilot and I took a good swig from the can.

I think it was mostly water, but did get a bit of a burning sensation in the back of my throat. Please tell me it is harmless so we can laugh hysterically at how dumb this was :grinning-face-with-sweat:
Did it at least taste good lol.

It was already sitting in front of me and I didn’t want to get off my rear end to go get a waste container… I’m a professional pharmaceutical scientist and worked in a formulation lab for 10 years, so trust me I’m really kicking myself on this one!
A cobblers’ shoes are never fixed…..

Anecdotal- I think the alk is toxic.

Kidding aside. I Hope you’re OK.

I don't think this is what they mean when they say Do The Dew. :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Some products are just asking for accidental consumption. Though the smell should stop you.

I was thinking the same thing. I also have the yellow bottle and they look a lot like the drinks they sit near in my refrigerator
