everything is carcinogenic in California.Reagent C is pretty safe. It might be carcinogenic in California.
Hahaha. Sounds like you get it!!Uhhh,,, I don't like where this is going...
*just kidding,,, as a life-long southern Californian, I don't actually care (about much)
Update: I am fine. @JimWelsh was kind enough to share the SDS and there were no significant toxicities listed. Thanks Jim! I’ll let you all know in a few years if I’ve developed any super powers or extra limbs
Also for future reference, there actually are some significant hazards for some of the ingredients in these reagents, but they are diluted to the point that it would take a lot to have serious reaction. Reagent A can cause acid related skin and eye irritation or burn. Reagent B can permanently blind you if in eyes and can be fatal if vaporized and inhaled. Reagent C is pretty safe. It might be carcinogenic in California.
Reagents A and B are quite toxic to aquatic life so be careful around your tanks I suppose.
You’re a goner man sorryDoes anyone know what is in the Trident reagents? I made a really dumb mistake and swallowed a small amount of all 3. I was using an empty mountain dew can for liquid waste while cleaning the cuvette and lines. Brain went on autopilot and I took a good swig from the can.
I think it was mostly water, but did get a bit of a burning sensation in the back of my throat. Please tell me it is harmless so we can laugh hysterically at how dumb this was![]()
I will leave that to the original owner’s discretion, @JimWelsh. I believe they may be somewhat confidential which is why I didn’t name the compounds outright on here.Just gonna throw this out there, but maybe it would be good to post the SDS here for future reference. Just in case so eone else is in this position or a kid drinks from the bottle etc. Just a suggestion.
They aren’t confidential. They are on Neptune’s site. It would be illegal to not offer them considering they are hazardous chemicals.I will leave that to the original owner’s discretion, @JimWelsh. Salty much? lol… I’m a professional pharmaceutical scientist and worked in a formulation lab for 10 years, so trust me I’m really kicking myself on this one!
If you're still alive Call whatever poison info hotline you have.Does anyone know what is in the Trident reagents? I made a really dumb mistake and swallowed a small amount of all 3. I believe they are also accessible by scanning the back of the bottles. The Trident NP ones are.
But here are the Trident NP ones. I’m not looking for the other ones. lol https://help.neptunesystems.com/getstarted/tridentnp/sds/
I recommend that you never use chewing tobacco or hang out with anyone who does.It was already sitting in front of me and I didn’t want to get off my rear end to go get a waste container… I’m a professional pharmaceutical scientist and worked in a formulation lab for 10 years, so trust me I’m really kicking myself on this one!
Funny story about that… I used to do it myself back in my football days. Watched a girl take a huge gulp of one of our cups at a party (solo cups usually contain much better substances than those left by a tobacco user). We tried to stop it but were too late and this girl was literally deaf in one ear, so I don’t think she heard our efforts to stop her from across the room among partying young people. To this day I don’t know how she kept her composure but she must have been embarrassed because she swallowed it and without a word or reaction, calmly walked out of the room (I assume to relieve her stomach contents in private). YUCKI recommend that you never use chewing tobacco or hang out with anyone who does.
