Tanks based on Aquaforest Products:

I have been using Aquaforest for almost 2 months and have seen some extraordinary results (at least for me). Keep in mind I used to habitually kill SPS before I transitioned to Aquaforest.

The acropora above appeared completely dead before I switched to Aquaforest. Once I switched to AF it started growing back quickly.

Speaking of Foster and Smith... They have a public 15% off sale for a few more days I think. But today only with code GOTFISH it's 20% off. I seldom buy anything from them but needed some AF refills. They don't have the full line but they had what I wanted and with free shipping couldn't refuse. Its sucks they charge sales tax now but you still can't beat it.
Codes don't apply for AF products. Manuf. fixed prices:(

Wrong... All I'm going to say is my order is on its way.
I was misinformed by CS rep at DFS, the Bigger15 coupon is applicable to AF products. Thx for the help.

I've ordered more of their products and the Reef Salt. Will take some before and progressive pictures of tank for other folks to reference. One of the reasons for shifting is due to high Alk issues with tank and wanting to see if there would be any changes in my tank with the products. We'll see....

Salty1962, I have used many salts, this is by far the best salt I have seen mix. You will also appreciate the NSW values it mixes close to :)

Perry what do you use? The reef salt or Probiotic. I am using the probiotic right now, was thinking about trying out the reef salt.

Good question, I use the reef salt.

Hi @Aquaforest

I live in Perth, Western Australia and would really like to give your supplements a try in my reef tank and I suspect so would many others in our reef club.

How doI find your product here in my country (internet searches are futile), bear in mind that I am also willing to look outside of AU, provided the distributor will ship to me. I looked at the German company Sewatec who will ship to me, but they only stock a limited range of your products and not the coral foods and supplements!

Thanks

Hello,
I know the products were tied up in customs department in Australia, this is the only contact I see, please give them a call, this is what I found off AF site :) Cheers!

I've been considering the AF method, but wanted to make sure that I was calculating the use of component 1 2 3 correctly. I have a 75 gallon which is attached to a 30 gallon frag tank and a sump. My actual water volume is around 120 gallons, with mostly Sps.

I dose 100 ml (each) of ESV 2-part each day, and my alk is steady at 8 via my Hanna checker. If I am reading the AF guide right, I would be dosing around 200 ml of each of the component 1 2 3 per day. Each container has 5000 ml, so am I right by calculating that these would only last 25 days (5000/200)? Seems like that would be quite expensive, $62/month for the bailing portion alone.

I was also considering using the probiotic salt, and dosing build, energy, vitality, amino mix, NP pro, pro bio s. Plus the po4 minus, carbon and zero mix, while feeding the power food.

If I went on vacation for a week or two, would it be an issue if somebody came say 3 times a week and added the drops.

I usually make about 25 gallons of salt water, which is stored (mixed/aerated every few hours with a pump via my apex) for a few weeks at most in a mostly sealed container. Can I store the mixed probiotic salt water? Also, I usually use a portion of this stored water for my office nano. Can I use the probiotic salt alone (no other AF additives) for weekly water changes on the nano?

Thank you
Jason

Perry, I have started using the Aquaforest reef salt, and all corals appear to like it, great PE already. I currently still dose BRS calcium, Alk, and Kalk for PH daily. I am wanting to switch to Aquarforest components 1,2,and 3 for daily dosing. Will these components keep my PH stable as well?

I have 82 gal volume and dose 97 ml 1+2+3+ with a heavy load of corals. I just started bi weekly water changes since my levels are holding steady. I have to make some adjustment to the dosing to dial the dosing amount in but it is less then recommended. that is my story:)

Thanks for your help.

Yeah, found them and emailed them!

The owner has been really helpful in getting back to me, we'll see if I can get what I want, we really are a reefing backwater!

Wow awesome reefs! I will be featuring some of these on our FB! Keep an eye out! Also it would be really good if you could post each one in a different thread or get the tank owners to come on and post a new thread! :)
Would love to see that!

5/8 cup per gallon, then I check it with the refactor. I guess I should weight it and that would be more exact. I will do that when I do my next water change.;)

In all honesty, I am unaware of whether the alk part supports PH, I have never measured PH in my 10 years of keeping SPS, while I know it is important, I really do not test of monitor. I can tell you that the corals in your tank will most certainly tell you that the products are amazing, I have had had awesome growth using Component 123, I now mix my own, which gives you even more control over your mineral levels :) Cheers
