Just orderes my Aquaforest stuff, all products for SPS demanding system. Will definitely be following this thread and I'll have plenty of questions! Excited to see how this works out

You'll be glad you did [emoji6]

@Perry, when measuring out the Ca, Alk and Mg per liter, are you actually weighing out grams for each on a scale, or are you using the general formula that 1 ml = 1 gram? Or is there some other way to calculate grams for each, like an included scoop?

AF has looked at using normal measuring from US to make things easier on users, like cups and tablespoons, the utensils we find most often in our homes for cooking for example. But yes, I use a scale to measure at this point, I like being exact, and a digital scale is best for that ;)

Thanks again for all the help Perry, Jsker and everybody else :)

As long as the temperature is under 25C it should be fine

So that converts to 77 degrees Fahrenheit for all us yanks! Lol thanks for the info.

Looks like I'm just fine! [emoji16]

This is my cube 3 weeks after starting the Auarforest reef salt. I am going to start dosing components 1,2 &3 in the near future
That is a happy tank, I like how you have the sticks

My tank is running the full AquaForest regimen as well. Here's a video I took a couple of days back of my acros -- will add a full tank shot later.

You might want to watch it in 1.5x speed so you don't get bored to death :)

Can I start this program or method with other salt? I have a half bucket of Red Sea pro that I rather not throw away.
Other then that everyone that is doing this how do u like it?
How does it compare to other "methods"?
And do u dose 1,2,3 along with A B C?
And are u guys only using the salt 1,2,3 A B C and not the food or anything else they sell?

Also are u guys running refugiums with this method? Or reactors? I've read so many post today everything is running together.
And iguana guys are can I see some photos of that pleas
Thanks
Justin

I'm doing the salt and abve. going to start dosing with their stuff today (I got powder stuff so I could mix it myself).

I have a pseudo refugium. Basically a bunch of dragons breath in my return chamber at the moment. Plan was to put this stuff in my frag tank but waiting to hit the lottery before I can turn that on lol

Justin you are starting the program with 1+2+3+? if so, RS coral pro is high in alk and you are going to want to test and dose 2+ different than 1+3+ and also adjust accordingly

I like how my system look now and I like the ease of figuring my dosing. I pretty auto much auto dose everything.

It work for my system

Yes, but very little of the A,B,C. Start out with the 1+2+3+ and that maybe all you need.

Besides the reef salt, 1+2+3+, ABC I dose the NP Pro and pro bio S and that is it. I am also running GFO and Bio pellets

In my sump I run the bio pellets and GFO

I have not bought anything still looking at diffrent methods so far this is the one I think I want to go with. It fits with my logic and it seems like it would be easier then some of the other ones slash cheaper.
@jsker
Why do u dose the NP pro and pro bio?

With a bigger tank 180+ would it Be better to buy the powder and make my own 1 2 3?

Thanks for all the help everyone.

Justin

I use the NP pro and pro bio for No3 and Po4 control, I am working a getting the bio pellets and GFO off line

Yes the cost are over half using the powder and the components strong to mix your own 1+2+3+ I am starting to mix my own in two weeks. The nice thing besides the savings, is I dose less 2+ then the 1+3+ so I do not have to sit on product or toss product. I just mix what I need.

So this can be started with a diffrent batch of salt.
With use of np pro and pro bio u can actually get away from reactors? That sounds like another plus for this system.
@jsker what do u test daily/weekly/monthly
And since u didn't say u had a fuge im guessing u don't have one and u are trying to control the nitrates and phosphates with the np pro and pro bio? If that is the case u don't need a fuge so another piece of equipment that is not needed.
