It's a good start reading this but how about one where the tank is already established?
I'm looking at it ( actually had bought the products) but didn't start using it because my tank wasn't establishedand I wasn't sure how to so I gave the three part away.Now mine is and I want to start using again. Can you use with a different salt? I just got a container of Red Sea coral pro and want to use that.
Are three part containers smaller than the 5 liter bottles?

Yes you can start with a different brand of salt.

Yes with the NP Pro and Pro Bio one can take the reactors off line. Remember every one of our systems are different.

Right now once a week, then I will go back to twice a month. I now change my water twice a month now also with using this system and I am thinking of going to once a month water changes.

Yes, just just test and make adjustments to you dosing. I ran my RS coral pro out before switching to the AF Salt with no issue.

1+2+3+ is in the 5 liter jugs, and I may be misunderstanding your question. Mixing your own, you can mix what ever size container you need in your application.

So the 1+2+3 in the 5 liter is a concentrate? What I'm trying to figure out ( this is starting for example if my calc is low what do I add? ) do I dose all 3 components to keep all in line? Does this help to keep Ph up as well?
Im not a math person so if I took my tests and say I'm at 10 Dkh what do I add this is where this stuff get confusing to me. Thanks

No 1+2+3 is ready to use. You need to balance out all your components where you want to keep them at and then start adding equal volume of these 1+2+3 to your system everyday to keep that balance maintained. You also need to play a bit with the dosage of these 3 components to figure out how much volume it will take to keep levels maintained. I have not seen a great effect on pH but it should as it has Alkalinity component in it. If you are at 10 dKH and want to maintain the system at 8 dKH then you will first take down the current alkalinity to 8dKH and then start dosing these components to hold it at that point.

You need to balance out all your components where you want to keep them at and then start adding equal volume of these 1+2+3 to your system everyday to keep that balance maintained. You also need to play a bit with the dosage of these 3 components to figure out how much volume it will take to keep levels maintained. I have not seen a great effect on pH but it should as it has Alkalinity component in it. If you are at 10 dKH and want to maintain the system at 8 dKH then you will first take down the current alkalinity to 8dKH and then start dosing these components to hold it at that point.

I have a 82 gallon water volume, meaning total water minus sand, rock, pumps, etc. I dose 96 ml of components 1+3+ to keep my Ca 420 Mg 1320 and 66 ml of component 2+ for my alk of 8.5 is and still droping. I dose 3+ the same as 1+.

The pre mix comes only the the 5 liter, but you can mix smaller amounts with the recipe posted by perry. You would have to purchase the product for the recipe and the expense up front is more then purchasing the pre mix but in the long run, using the recipe save over half of the pre mix

The reef salt itself has a dKH between 7.5 to 8. So if you start doing 10% water change with that it will start decreasing you alkalinity. Once you are happy with your dKH then you can start keeping it stable by 1+2+3. Once you can stably maintain your dKH then you can vary doses to up or down the Ca and Mg. All you need to start with is salt, 1+2+3, Pro bio S and NP Pro. Then depending upon system requirement you can add up Kalium, Strontium or Fluorine.

Components A,B,C are the trace elements for color, not Ca,Mg, and alk. A suggestion is that you could down size the components 1+2+3+ to smaller 1 liter pop/soda bottles and save space.

Yes the a b and c are totally different than the +1,+2+3. Folks that run calcium reactors are the ones that usually buy the abc because they are already getting the calcium etc... From the reactor. The components +1,+2,+3 already have the trace elements in the mixes. Some guys just want to add an extra boost of elements with abc. [emoji41]

Needs to be refrigerated after opening

Right now I keep mine in a cool dark area that doesn't see temps above 70degrees Fahrenheit . 25c is 77. I think in the future I will keep it in the fridge. [emoji6]

Actually according to Aquaforest guide 1+2+3 (Page 17) already has everything including micro and macro element both so you dont need anything like A B or C. If you prepare your 1+2+3 manually then you will need them otherwise not.
