It finally happened. After 5 years I got hit by a bristleworm, five years! After a cruddy morning (no sleep because our 2 year old fridge decided to stop working late last night) and a cruddy day at work (creepy customers and our new system is causing me grief), I come home from work and find 4 frags knocked over. I pick the first one up and the little turd was underneath. Right on my most used finger!

Little fuzzy pink jerk! I have touched many bristleworms by accident before, but never actually had any of the bristles come out in my skin. I guess it could be worse, I got all the bristles out with tape and my fridge is fixed, and i made a rooster friend at work, but I still needed to rant. So that's it, rant over. I feel better lol.

I am in almost 5 years. I have been hit by an urchin. But no worms yet. My first tank was filled to with them. This one I have not seen one. I am not looking forward to it though.

I would imagine an Urchin would hurt way more, I handled mine often because he was always in my way but never got a boo boo lol.

Ouch. My last tank had a ton. I saw one in the new tank. I generally find them useful, but I am afraid of finding one the hard way :o
I usually find them useful as well, but I am ready to buy a sixline at this point and wage war lol

they hurt?
Not especially, it's more of an annoyance. I would imagine if I was having a normal, not already annoying day, that it wouldn't have phased me lol.

Awww that sux heard vinegar takes care of the bristles dunno how true never been hit .......yet at least congrats on the rooster friend least that's something

Ps my sixline didn't even try to eat bristle the coris wrasse on the other hand loved them and loved creating sand storms

Haha he is fun. I am hoping he will be the new store pet since we can't actually sell him in city limits. He was supposed to be a she...

I am going to try the panty hose method before another fish I think.

I got an urchin spine far under my fingernail one time. OHHHHHHH, that smirt.
AHHHHH I am going to have nightmares tonight lol. Sharp things under nails really get to me for some reason. I think that would be the worst form of torture!

that chicken though…. lol
He is pretty great lol. We fought the company owner for years not to have "urban chickens" in our store, but now that we actually have them, we all love them lol. Of course Rooney the rooster is our favorite, which is nice since it doesn't look like he will be going anywhere anytime soon;)
