Is it sick that I actually enjoy the smell? I also enjoy looking at people's equipment/setup as much as the DT - I may be just off!

230 skimmer cup. Sitting on a 1 gallon jug for transport (no spill on the carpet)! Hopefully the pics come out (bot sideways).

For those of you that enjoy stats...you may have noticed the new tagged and mentioned stats we each have under our names/profile pic and info that is displayed next to our posts on the left. The majority of those are at 0 for most folk. Well....... Those that make the roster will be getting an @ tag on Monday the 8th(start date for this match) putting your mentioned stat at 1 now...the crowd goes wild.
Taking it a step further - I will also be tagging all roster teammates that make the final list to the specific Dirty Skimmer "CUP" thread - which will take your tagged stat to 1 as well - its the start to building up your stats and no more 0's for us.lol.

I'll have another round tonight. Clearing the skimmer neck via hands and fingers don't bother me. Dawn dish soap 1st then some anti bacterial soap cleans and makes the hands good to go.

It's the fastest way to clean it out... I do it every time.

Oh yeah two fingers around the neck, around the cup, rinse and back on! (Like I said earlier, in the kitchen sink with the wife looking at me like I lost my mind)

I'm in. I usually clean mine about every three days so it will be interesting to see what a whole week's worth will look like.

Oh when I say wastewater treatment facility that is exactly what it smelled like. I had never had a trace of nitrates before that point but after the cycle and everything calmed down I was still at @ 25 for nitrates. I had always heard about the vodka treatment for nitrates so I researched and started dosing. About a month later I was back to untraceable nitrates. At the time my tank was a 20 long with a euroreef rs80 and dolphin amp master 3500 in the 20 gal sump so needless to say I had the filtration/turnover to handle this type of cleanup quickly. Same set up that has my current 60 gal nitrate free since inception. I have to dial back the dolphin pump on the larger tank as well. Probably going to switch to a DC return pump in the near future if not for anything else but pure size, the dolphin is huge!
