Euroreef 180 skimmer on a 125 predator tank. Run phosguard in a reactor and vodka dose. Red dwarf lion, yellow dwarf lion, plumieri, barbari, inimicus.




Aqua C Remora on a 40B. Few lps, couple sps frags. Two clowns. Only extra is vodka dosing.

I usually clean the skimmer every 4-5days and run it on the dry side. This is the typical amount of skimmate I get:

And usually around an inch of thick sludge in teh bottom of the cup

My tank is a 120 with a 20 gallon sump. It's only filtration is the rock, skimmer and some filter wool. I occasionally run carbon too. The skimmer is an Aqua-One G220 Pro-Skim rated for up to 800 litres (211 gallons). The tank hasn't been filled long enough for me to figure out a good water change schedule yet. It was half filled with livestock in it for a few months and only in the last week or so have I filled it the rest of the way and started using the sump and skimmer.
Live stock at the moment is a few small Palaemon Serenus shrimp. There's about 10-20 in there and are all about an inch long or less. A tiny sand goby who's about an inch, maybe even smaller and a smooth toadfish who's about 6 inches long.
I like to feed very heavily. I love big, fat fish who love to eat! I have a few home made foods I feed, most of them consist of chopped seafood, but others have some special extras in them.
This is my collection cup, nice and clean

And this is the skimmer up and running with a beer bottle collection jug thing. Don't really know what to call that lol. I usually use a closed airline tap to block off the drain, but it's been misplaced at the moment lol.

I would like to point out that the skimmer has only just been added to the tank and I haven't tuned it in just yet, I'm getting a much wetter skim than I would like.

Turn it back a hair, when it breaks in you will get what you're looking for. My skimmer brokr in different stages over a month long period of time until it settled to where I got the perfect skim and no further adjusting. [emoji106]

I've turned it down the smallest amount I could and I'm waiting on it to balance out before I change it again.
I'm hoping it's already broken in. While the tank was half full for those few months, I had the sump full of water and the skimmer running. It wasn't pulling anything out of the water, but hopefully it was enough to break it in

Handful of astreas, ceriths, turbo snails, handful of blue legs, and a cleaner shrimp.

Six line, oc clown, hippo tang, and a Copper Band Butterfly (CBB was only supposed to be a temporary visitor to clear out my aptasia before my large stick purchase. After he cleaned out my aips, in extremely quick fashion, he is a voracious feeder of mysis so I am growing rather fond of him and may keep him around)end rambling.

Several montis, couple acros, chalice, several random batches of palys/zoas(these things live in my tank but don't thrive but SPS do so I figure it is based on a low bio/nutrient load in tank water)
