Here's my 10 gallon nano. Not a eutrophic mess despite elevated nutrients (I even intentionally dose a decent amount of silica hourly via a dosing pump) and feed on average the equivalent of a cube of frozen food per day, have more fish than most would recommend for a tank this size, and keep NO3 in the 10-20ppm range and strive to keep PO4 above 0.03ppm.

You lost me when you made the blanket statement, basically to all reefers on this forum.

Lost all credibility there, everyone's tank is different, in different cycles, different in maturity, different nutrients levels, etc. you can't tell everyone to use a product, when you don't know a thing about everyone's tank status. Really irresponsible.

I've read many thread posts here from many people including Randy who are saying to raise nutrients to encourage faster growing algae to outcompete dinos. Not use solutions to lower nutrients. You can search for, and find all these references.

If my tank nutrients were already low, like 0 nitrates, I would never add NoPox, it's the complete opposite thing to do.

So in all honesty, my tank now looks fantastic. I attribute it to the well researched equipment decisions (see sump pic below).

Since I have top of the line equipment, the only real upgrade for me at this point would be Red Sea’s new skimmer.

Right now, I’m cruising at 8.2-8.3 ph with Kalk in the ATO. That, coupled with the U.V., and the NoPoX have obliterate the Dino’s.

Honestly, my tank looks great. I attribute this to well researched equipment decisions (see sump pics below for proof)

My ATO has allowed me to raise pH to 8.3 as Randy reccomended doing, the NoPoX has lowered nutrients (also as Randy originally reccomended) and the U.V. together have obliterated the Dino’s.

Since I have such high end equipment, the only upgrade for me at this point would be a Red Sea Skimmer. Have you seen those things? They make NYOS look like the Toyota of Skimmers.

No3 & Po4 levels please. Pardon my skepticism but I’ve also never heard of UV sterilizers removing, processing and replacing sand and rockwork. If so, is it a Red Sea model? Also, I suppose there would be no dinos if the tank never received light and was consistently stripped of all nutrients, making it a barren oceanic wasteland. It wouldn’t be the nicest looking tank IMO but whatever floats your boat.

A barren oceanic wasteland? What do you think the N03 levels are of natural sea water?
