So I'm thinking of adding another wrasse to my tank but I'm not sure if I can since my six line is a *****. He has chased out a two spot candy hogfish and kill a royal gramma. Any suggestions on what to go with him ?

Unless you rid yourself of the sixline; nothing. And agree with what Marshall has advised you.

Ran a top for a while but he jumped out through a small hole and landed in my sump. The purple and sohal were added at the same time and were the last ones in. We don't run any lids here at the LFS I work at and rarely have any fish jump. If something does it's a golden head goby.

Caught the sixline finally and got the biocellatus! Also saw decent size melanurus and filament fin that I would love to get. Any thoughts on compatibility in a 75?

Compatibility with a Cirrhilabrus or Paracheilinus is fine, but mixing with another Halichoeres (melanurus) is a mixed bag. It might work, it might not. I'm guessing you'd be fine, but be prepared to take action if things go awry.

just added a beautiful redline wrasse to my setup i will show some pics as soon as hes out of the sand!
but its been 3 days and i havent seen him..how long till its ok for me to be worried lol!

Hi All,

Hoping for some advice on successfully keeping a leopard wrasse. Can't stop watching my sixline and now want a leopard but keeping read on how difficult to keep, so whats the secret wrasse lovers?

I gotta say my secret was buying from a sponsor here who took the time, effort, and recourses to acclimated them fully to captivity. Both my leopards are eating pellets and frozen and came from nicewrasse.

Other than that taking a healthy specimen to begin with and feeding often helps alot.

It could be up to 2, even 3 weeks. You must simply be patient.

Well, first no wrasse is compatible with a Pseudocheilinus wrasse I'm afraid. If you're to venture down this road, the sixline must first go.

Crushed coral will not work. It lends well to causing cuts or abrasions on the fish, which then tend to allow bacterial infections to take hold.

Absolutely.

Whatever you do, don't go digging around. That would only cause additional stress, and hurt your odds of success.

Agreed. Dump the sixline and get a finer sand bed if you want to keep one of those. Do leave it alone if it digs in, too; if you start with a healthy specimen it will not starve to death in that time.

I searched and found no solid answers I'm presuming it might be a hit or miss scenario ...
My question/situation is this : I have a 75 reef lots of LR, 2-3" SB
I started w/ a sml Yellow coris he's peaceful & minds his own, purchased a Lubbocks & they get along fine, saw a Carpenters & McCosker's & fell in love w/ both
After QT the last 2 I put them in together ( they're fine) but now the Lubbocks is getting defensive, not fighting, but asserting himself & "flashing"(?) to the new guys
will this stop , or progress to more aggressive behavior ?
My entire fish list is " 2 Ocellaris ( sml) 1 Royal Gramma, 2 firefish,Lawnmower Blenny, rainfords goby, 3 green Chromis & the 4 wrasses

Sounds completely normal to me. Lubbock's are not aggressive, but will defend themselves when needed. It is trying to establish done dominance over the new fish. Keep an eye out, but I have no doubt they will be fine.

Yup. What you're seeing is fine and to be expected. And debatably the best part of keeping different species in the same tank.
