She's wanting to hide out under the pvc fitting today. First sign of shyness that I have witnessed out of her. Of course being in a 9"x6" box can't be too much fun for her either. I have it sitting on the sand bed in one corner at the moment. I think later on today I'm going to see if my Algae Free magnet is strong enough to hold it to the glass. This was it can be up higher, get more flow and more looks from the other fish. Been observing for the past couple of hours and really none of them have gone back there. Lineatus made one pass as did all of the anthias.

Question on the Potter's wrasse for you guys....Is it just me, or as Potter's mature, the yellow gets duller like a mustard yellow when they're adults? I've had very vibrant juveniles, but as it got bigger, it's color was not as vibrant as it was when it was younger.

Has that been anyone's experience?

Mine is getting more beautiful, I've only had him/her 6-8 months though.

I think she's trying to change male even with the other males in the tank surprisingly

I find my potters is getting better colors as well as it gets older

Since mine is so young, I'll have to keep you updated along the way. There are no other leopards in the DT at this time so not sure how that'll will play on it's coloring. Hopefully soon, I may be able to obtain another small juvenile Potter's or another leopard species. I always have my eyes open for a nice fish or three, lol!

CF Lanceolatus? im confused i thought pintail was just a broad term. Im asking because it was sold to me as a Lunate. Thanks

That's a cf I got today I think it's a female. From what I know they are pintail I do not know of any others but I could be wrong I'm no expert on them.

Cf. lanceolatus is a more accurate name, it is given by the scientific community. It is recognized as a new species, but not formally described yet. Pintail is a common name given by hobbyists, in many cases common names are fine, but in others the same common name can be used for different species, i.e. Christmas wrasse.
