Large males are not as plentiful as females and usually do not ship as well either. Buy a female, and in most cases, she will transition to a male.

Sat at the tank a little bit today and was able to snap a few shots of my other wrasses.

Hey i know this is a wrasse ID thread but sewing as you guys know do much about wrasses I thought I'd try asking. I have a 225 gallon tank with A LOT of fish and a hand full of wrasses. About 200 pounds of lr and a lot of hiding places. I bought a mystery wrasse yesterday about 2.5", I have the opportunity to buy one today about 3"... i really would love to have both. .. is it possible? Considering they are about the same size, being introduced about the same time, tank size etc?

I have only seen multiple Pseudocheilinus specimens work in huge tanks, tanks much larger than yours. Pseudocheilinus species are very intolerant of other wrasses, especially their close relatives. I would advise against doing it.

I have a lubbockis fairy wrasse was wondering anybody got any good suggestions on peaceful wrasses that it would get alone with want to add another couple wrasses to my tank

Thanks! Now I'm worried about your intolerant to other wrasses comment. .. i have like a dozen different wrasses in there and in all about 50 different tyoes and all sized fish. .. You think my other wrasses will be ok or do you think he will start killing them 1 by 1?
Timminiki wrasse, red coris, 4 leopards, 2 three spot, c pylei, 3 royal pencil, christmas, candy cane hog, china, 2 tusks, cleaner, black fin and I believe those are all my wrasse.

Other fairy wrasses, as well as flasher, leopard, pencil, and small Halichoeres species.

Their issues with other wrasses gets worse as they get older and will be especially focused on those added after them.

You have a few other wrasses that can be a little pushy toward other labrids and with that many there should be enough to provide adequate distractions and distribution of aggression. It is worse when there are only a couple of other wrasses.

Thank you so much, it was the answer I was hoping for...few[emoji51]... just sucks I'll be passing on that second mystery. Ty!

I have a juvenile male Katherine's fairy wrasse and juvenile female Katoi fairy wrasse that get along and don't have any problems. I'd like to get a female 8-line flasher as well. Would that work or would I have problems in the future?

Here's the Katherine's

So any ideas on how to change it back ??
Sorry, but it won't happen.

I have used prazipro with them in the past without issue.
X3, and something I always advocate.

You'd be fine, and your katherinae is still female FWIW.

I have a bi colored dottyback and a Lubbokies fairy wrasse was wanted to add more wrasses was wondering it would be a problem. The tank is peaceful and all fish right now seem to get along. Any ideas if I can add more wrasses and if I can any suggestions on which ones would make a good color and variety selection. Thanks for everyone's help I'm kinda new at the reef game.

What sized tank? In most cases, yes you can add more wrasses. Flasher and other fairy wrasses are good options, though get a social acclimation box for introducing new fish to established ones.

Also, be mindful that bicolor dottybacks can get aggressive, especially around the rockwork.
