Also if you aren't banned from RC yet and you post negatively about RC in threads like this anywhere they more often than not see it and will ban you. I have seen it done.

Thats why I won't say anything bad about them. I still enjoy the sites information and post there sometimes, as there is probably about 20+ threads on any subject you can think of.

I heard of RC just never made attempts to join. WOM about how they ran it did not sound appealing to me:sure: And on the plus side my reefing buds just made it easier when they all told me to stay away from them and join the awesomeness that is REEF2REEF :still_dreaming:

RC blows,they ban so many people for the most absurd reasons.I can't even mention the word" skimmer" without being threatened with being banned since I am part of I-Tech skimmers.I never once tried to mention the skimmers I'm part of but since they know they pmed me with a list if rules lol.that site is a joke that's run by *****.I really don't post much there anymore and came over here.they have lost some great knowledgeable reefers due to their egos,but RC's loss is R2R's gain.I for one wouldn't doubt they have accounts here and spy for others to ban.

This is very true!!!! If they didn't do me dirty or my friends I prolly would have never found this place.... It's funny I'm a mod on every site I'm on and they through me out to the gutter like I had nothing to offer them.... Oh well there loss and our gain!!!!1smile1

While I do disagree with banning productive, helpful people from forums I do agree with being asked to follow some simple rules. Its actually quite easy to still be helpfull without posting pictures.

I know my view is not a popular one.........

I think you are right in that simple rules are crucial to keeping a forum in order, that is not the issue. R2R has rules, the difference is that if you make a mistake and break a rule, you don't get banned you get corrected. I feel sorry for the family members of the mods over there. Can you imagine how many parts of the house they are banned from entering? Can't be pretty.

I'm gonna have go with the minority and agree with Todd. I've been there 5 years without a problem and if your intention isn't to stir trouble you should be fine.

They make pretty clear that commercial entities can't post pictures under any circumstances so to blatantly break that rule, get punished and complain about it makes no sense to me- no offense Sonny :xd: Though banning Jim w/o reason seems a little harsh. I guess they banned all accounts affiliated with Pro Corals.

Once you become a vendor you've made a firm decision, at least over there, to give up your hobbyist status and that's just how it is.

Lol if you have made it 5 years on rc without being banned, thats pretty incredible. Like taking a steak, tying it around your junk and going swimming in the Caribbean for 5 years, it's only a matter of time...

I'm in that boat Join date on RC was August 2005. My take on it is that as long as you follow the rules and don't get silly on there, you shouldn't have a problem.

Well, heres the thing, I dont even know if it was a picture that got us banned. We were never given a reason or warning. It wasn't like I was posting individual shots of the corals, they were two FTS shots. We were then banned WITHOUT warning. I know the rules, and never posted anything commercial. We were banned the day after we stopped sponsoring.

So saying that we broke the rules in anyway is false. They just didn't want to worry about us posting anything. If we had been banned for a FTS shot they wouldn't have banned Jim as well.
