Happy Thanksgiving!!! I've missed you and was hoping you'd pop in. How's baby doing???It's early, and you all know I haven't been keeping track.
But I wish everyone a happy thanksgiving.

Scheduled date is dec 6th, but if things go before then, off to the operation table. I am in so much pain. Even the dogs know.
Hoping to get a lot of cooking done on Thanksgiving.

Have you thought about kalk?Water test Wednesday
1.024. 25.5c
Ph 7.8
No 25
Po 73. .224
Alk .54 7.00
Ca .15 425
MG 1500 +2 drops.
I NEED to get the ph up. Alk won't move until then. Got a monitor to hook up to a scrubber. Monitor was defective. Sending back hoping for a replacement soon. Won't hook up scrubber without it.
Dosing alk at 72ml per day ca at 48ml per day. Ca has been steady alk still staying low.
Sump is in basement skimmer running 24/7. Can't open windows and can't run tube outside. Scrubber is only option. This is the negative of a basement sump. Looked at last years #s but was dosing silicates to combat dinos so alk was high due to same.
Going to turn off skimmer to see if that helps but worried that po/no will go up.
Yes. Couple things are against me in that application as well. I did try kalk but it wasn't enough, and it would super saturate out. Thats why I started independently dosing alk and ca to see where the issue was. I (think) I narrowed it down to the basement ph.Have you thought about kalk?
I have 3 young children, 4 cats, a dog, 27 yo daughter moved back in, 24 yo daughter just had a baby, and me. House CO2 definitely plays a big roll in things. Outside airline, Kalk, with all the surface gas exchange CO2 is absorbed as quickly as I can take it out of the system.Yes. Couple things are against me in that application as well. Just me and the dog now. 180g is on main floor with the basement 40g sump. That is where the ph issue is. Funny thing office tank is on 2nd floor where we spend 95% of our day. Ph there is steady 8.15.I have 3 young children, 4 cats, a dog, 27 yo daughter moved back in, 24 yo daughter just had a baby, and me. House CO2 definitely plays a big roll in things. So I settled for stability of 8.0-8.2 during the day and 7.8-8.0 at night.
A friend is sending me a HOB refugium and I'm going to try that to see if it will help. If not I will keep it stable as possible.
For reference my home CO2 is 1000-1500 right now, can spike to 2000 during dinner. Main floor is around 1500sqft, we have a second floor and a basement. Tanks are on the main floor.
If I can open windows it drops to 400-500 and I do notice pH higher around 8.4 and consumption of ALK and Calcium increases.
