So I got a tomini tang yesterday, and today he is out and about, grazing, and eating off a clip some. I noticed that he has rubbed up against a power head just a few times. Nothing visible on the body

so I thought it might be early stages of ich

any recommendations?
Is there a bath treatment I could use?
Thanks a lot,
Again...

if he's rubbing then unfortunately all the fish need to come out and treated in a QT tank. However since you just added him id leave him be. You can successfully manage ICH and be perfectly fine. Feed quality food and keep your water stable and you'll be fine for the time being. If you are upgrading to a 90 in the near future I would then treat the fish for 30 days in copper power while the 90 cycles. DO NOT USE THE ROCK OR SAND FROM THE OLD TANK as it could bring in an encrusted ich parasite

I think I just want to manage the ich
Although, since this is probably just developing, is there an herbal or something like that treatment?

Things like metro will help but not get rid of ich. uv set to kill parasites will also help. All the "reef safe" ich meds are just snake oils

There is a few things but not worth it in my opinion since he doesn't actually show signs of ich except for the few scratches on the powerhead. Plus a bath will only temporarily help him with ich. As soon as he goes back into the display tank he is susceptible to getting it again. Feed frozen soaked with selcon or other vitamins and keep your tank stable. You will be alright for now. when you do the upgrade then id say QT this fish and start clean in the new tank

So the options are TTM, copper, hypo
I have 2 tanks that I could set up for ttm, I have to get a copper test kit, and I don’t have an ATO for hypo

so
Which one seems like the best option?

I think I will go with TTM, and hope my clownfish and dragonet do not get infected or the ich falls off yet

Im not a big fan of TTM.... it has to be done absolutely perfect with little room for error. Will you be QTing all your fish or just the tomini?

I think just the tomini unless other fish have symptoms
That wont do anything.... you'd QT him just to put him back into a tank with ich. You need to remove all your fish and treat with TTM or copper and then leave the display fallow for 76-90 days

yes but unfortunately it doesn't disappear, it reproduces in the tank and just multiplies.

I use copper power for 30 days at 1.9-2.5ppm checked with a hanna copper checker and leave the display tank empty for 90 days.
