I like the idea of LED's but I'm just not convinced yet if the coral grows as well as under halides. I'm sure you have been very busy researching this Tony. Any hands on experience with them ?

Strike that, I just went back in your thread and read you have been working on this for two years. I ordered some Reefbrite XHO's to add to my light for actinics. Hopefully my coral will stay doing well.

Bradley, Here is a photo of a tank I've been consulting and working on from day one. Every coral in this system started out as a very small frag. Also, this aquarium is lit by a hybrid light system, which is being replicated on my system. The right LED can produce incredible growth and color.

I'm onboard. those light cannons look perfect for a halide replacement and i've been wanting them for awhile. To see a reef master utilizing them makes me want to implement these into my lighting scheme on my upcoming final 280G build. i'm still getting the pieces of the puzzle for that one.

Here you go a photo of the overflow box. Yes, you are right the return will be over the back through the Sea Swirls. Each overflow box has two holes, which are being used as drains. One of the holes are being used as the main drain and the other as a back-up drain.
Tony how quiet are your drains setup this way? Is that just a 90 on top? Hole drilled in the top of the 90? Getting ready to setup a Marineland tank as well and been trying to decide what to do with the overflow plumbing. Want it quiet as it is in my living room. Also curious on the return pumps. Been reading a lot about them lately. Sure there will be plenty on display at MACNA.

Does the Cannon give you the full light spectrum or do you have to supplement with the T-5's?

Tony, I am very glad, to see that the multi chip has those results, I read about it, and I told some friends that where building their tanks, but they could not find enough info on them. Amazing and they way they also save power is incredible.
I have one one question, is 2 of the seaswirls enough for your size tank, I asked you because is a gentleman in the Tampa area, that runs 4 of them in a 95% SPS dominated tank, personally I dont have experience with them, so I would like to know what make you use only 2 of them?

I'm tagging along for this, Tony. I can't say anything more than what has previously been said in this thread regarding your build. I really like the stand, love the sump and its simplicity, and really interested in the lighting concept. I'll be looking forward to updates. Well done, Sir.

Most know how important the "Spouse Factor" is to me, so the noise is really really low and acceptable to the spouse. I placed covers on top of the overflow boxes and that helped dampen the noise. Also, when I have the pumps at 50% flow rates you can not hear the drains. The one of the two 90s has a hole and a small tube. BTW, all the PVC used in the overflow box came with the tank - Marineland provides the PVC drains. As for the return pumps, they are everything I expected and more. No Neat, great flow, controllable and very little energy consumption.

The company that makes Sea Swirls also makes Sea Sweeps and I will be using a pair of those as well, that part of the build should be coming up shortly. I will have four oscillating devices in total.
