Top 10 rarest sps???

It is all just preference and opinion. No right or wrong. Sometimes corals don't look all that great when they are frags, but look great when hey grow into colonies. My Tyree Soli, $500 Efflo, and Icefire Echinata were like that. No big deal when a tiny frag, but let them grow a bit and WOW!

I might be coming to you in a few months begging you to sell me a frag of the Mind Trick!
Dave

Haha, you don't need to beg. Just bring the checkbook. LOL

I personally consider all of the atlantic stony's to be ultra rare only due to the collection bans. With only being able to get them as hitchhikers or similarly odd ways they are just inherently hard to come by.
Yes, RARE and MOST SOUGHT AFTER are two very different things.

Not trying to kill the thread, I think its great... this just gets thrown around too much in the hobby IMO. If we all saw the top ten rarest SPS coral in the ocean, we'd all cringe at their gorgeous browns.

I would agree with the following being on the list

Purple Monster
LE Incredible Hulk
20K Lokani

Tubs Starbright Lokani
Tubs Pink Smoothie
Eddies Purple Monster
Grafted Simplex
Blue Matrix
Ultimates Rainbow

All the ones that are kept hidden and we don't know about.

You have to put the Royal Plum in there for now it has just been made LE by reefarmers and I have a piece. 6 months from now they may be everywhere. If you want to see it search reeffarmers go to LE then acros it is the first one.

It was made an LE about a year ago FWIW.

Definitley Ben!

Here are my additions to your list ;)

Mike Palletta pink n blue prostrata
setosa
pink lemonaid
ultimate blue stag
aquascene echinata
aquarium city red
flashlight acro
mystic blue

the nine of those that I have (still waiting on the hulk... ahem.... ben...) seem to be the ones everyone wants when they come for the tour. My personal favorites are the setosa, flashlight, and the lokani. All 3 very different colors and growth structures, but they sure are purdy :)

(still waiting on the hulk... ahem.... ben...)

I know, you are still first on the list. Now that it is completely encrusted, it has started to grow a little better, give it a few more months and it should hopefully be ready

All these rare and only one pic on this thread? Guess I will go back to the top 10 zoanthids thread as there are pics at least.

Just to name a few

Ice/fire
FF enchinata
PM
Pink lemonade
20k lokani
paletta pink tip stag

I think my favorite sort-of hard-to-obtain sps is the Pink Lemonade.
Pink lemonade seems easy to get my opinion but such a great looking coral i wouldnt frag mine and probably the same for others that have it. yup that could make it hard to get

Yeah the pink lemonade is starting to get more and more popular, around this part of the woods its still pretty uncommon.

Some of my favs.

Original Purple Monster
Orange setosa
My tricolor valida
Green setosa
Red hot chili pepper monti cap
Jesus's Echinata
ORA pearlberry
aqua delight

What about Stylocoeniella? I can't say that I've seen much of these around, though I don't think they're extremely rare in the wild.

Here's a pick of mine

I really like these guys. The tiny yellow polyps stick out nicely against the purple body; kind of like a miniature Cyphastrea.
