Nothing at all wrong with DIY screens. They do a great job actually for many clients, but yes they are made of aluminum and although they are water and corrosion resistant, there's not really a piece of metal that you can have saltwater on 24/7 that will not potentially leech something over time. That's just what clients smarter than us have said (a few are chemists or in manufacturing).

I just got my lid from Toplids a couple of weeks ago. Everything was extremely professional. We had a kickoff call for my project, had another call to finalize my measurements, another call to approve the design. Tyler and his team answered all my questions quickly anytime I contacted them. Absolutely beautiful lids and snug tight fit. Buy with confidence.

I have a ClearView on my 120 and love it. I was going to order from Top Lids but I don't remember why I changed. It wasn't due to their product as I would gladly order from them as well. They have those nice feeding cups too. The BRS kit is crap imo. Looks shabby and the screen stretches over time.

We shall see.. I ordered 2 from him couple weeks ago.. now just a waiting game. Prices have gone up because of supply costs.. was cheaper when I acquired last year. I thought they were here in Houston but he told me they moved to Florida?

@Top_Lids - I want to say excellent work. I received the lids today for the new tank and overall very very impressed. They are at least 1/4" thick (thinking more need to get the measurement out on them) with a nice screen mesh that is taunt with no sag, or folds within. I Since this tank was going to have an open top I wanted lids that would last but also look great. From start to finish it took about 6 weeks were in contact with me and when I had questions they answered them without any issues. I would not hesitate to buy from them again!! I will post a video next week of the lids on the tank with everything installed.

I had a really rough experience with top lids.. however looks like it has changed ownership and may be better? essentially made a lid for me after many missed promised delivery dates to the tune of 5 months. Once i did receive their cutouts for RMS lights were too tight and didn't fit. The spline area made it so they couldn’t be shaved down either, and I never reached a resolution with them. My bank gave me my money back though which was nice. The old owner pretty much refused to make it right. His name was Freddy. Communication was also a huge issue. Phone never worked and they only answered emails after a few days etc.
might be better now? Not sure.

I have one top lids lid and another one on the way. They make a solid product and I haven’t had any issues with them. The new owner is Tyler Moon and he is on the ball! You can tell he wants to take the company far and to succeed. There is a person named Freddy but he is in engineering. I recommend you get a quote from them and also from the other reputable companies and at the end of the day go with your gut.

yea. Looks like Tyler really uprighted the ship over there. I decided to research what they have been up too and seems they have gained some traction of bigger influencers and from what I can see doing well. The lids look pretty spiffy. Can’t see any of their reviews on social media due to being blocked by Freddy over my review back when. Kudos to Tyler as it seems communication and business seems to be much better over there

@mattieIm sorry that you had a bad experience man...yes we acquisitioned Top Lids back when these challenges were happening with clients. First thing we did was go one by one through the resolutions we knew of with Clients, mainly a lot of lead time and equipment fitting issues. Contacted all we could but were bound to miss some. Thanks very much.Yes Freddy is my business partner from old Top Lids. He is a master engineer by trade who was forced to do customer service with no experience, and was also learning English as a second language. He's a beast and we love working together.

looks like Tyler’s response above have solved some of the major issues I had with the company, maybe give them a try and see what happens.
