Trying to find chloroquine phosphate

Has anyone bought chloroquine phosphate on EBay? I'm having a hard time finding a veterinarian to prescribe it. I found this seller on eBay selling "99.9% pure" they say it is sold legally since it is not USP grade and therefore not for human use. Does this sound right?

Yes I have. Looks like from the same person. I think it’s legit. I keep it in the fridge in the dark

I have read that only the prescription stuff is confirmed "pure".

Have you used it on a known parasite infected fish? I really hope it is the right stuff. Using cupramime just really diminishes the appetite and really gets me nervous. I'll put it to the test.

I also found a product from New Life Spectrum (ich shield). It is supposed to be chloroquine phosphate. Not sure what concentration it is but it'll be next shot if I can't find a vet to help.

I know Vets that use this stuff I’m currently trying it out.

Cool, let us know how well it works with eradication. I'll test the powder I'll be getting from eBay with my next fish. It'll be a couple weeks since my QT is occupied with a lightning maroon clown being treated for intestinal worms.

Ich shield the powder is what I am using for a puffer that has ich.

A couple weeks in and all visible spots are gone and fish is acting normal.

Only time will tell if it indeed worked.

I just dont want to risk copper with a puffer and there was no way to get a RX as I could not find a vet who was willing.

Good to know. Let me know how it ends up. How long of an observation period are you planning before introduction to the DT?

my experience in ebay buyer was not good. Next i got an online pharmacy to sell me some and i am very happy with it.

How many fish have you quarantined with the stuff from eBay and were any of them known to parasites?

I have bought off EBAY ...the package has a Hippo Tang on the Label ...don't remember the store .Every Time I've used it has always giving me good results .Never had luck with Tangs though .

LOL that is funny, Hippo is the least you wanna try CP on. its a death sentence. Other tangs can handle it well just not hippo tang. Anthias and wrasses are big no no.

The one I was seeing on eBay had a label with Achilles tang on it.

I've read that Hippo tangs, anthias, and wrasses were poor candidates for CP.

I was able to get a Hippo Tang through Chloroquine P but he was mature and a Nori addict .Most Tangs I have too stop CP by day 3 and do Copper .I think the theory is that CP makes there food taste disgusting ...

i bought on ebay the one that show Achilles tang. not sure on the seller. CP taste metallic and is appetite suppressant.

I just purchased Chloroquine Phosphate from eBay and will be delivered in two days. Seems to me there are 2-3 vendors selling CP and I got the one in the black bag on the picture. I figured this guy(AquaAlgae) cares enough about his product to put it in a light proof container. I will report soon on the quality of this CP.

I got mine in yesterday. Quickly wrapped it up in a brown paper sack and stuck it in the fridge. Got a ways to go before the new 120 is finished and ready for fish. I got the back glass painted a few hours ago. Waiting for it to dry so I can pull the tape off.
